I ran across the valley and jumped into the air. The hill was steep that it slightly curved, so you were falling if you tried to sled down it in winter. As I fell, I felt younger pairs of eyes, both True Elementalists and younger children, stare at my figure as I fell from camp. Before I sailed through the last few feet of the hill, I extended my arms and my suit had flaps on it, turning into a wing suit, and a soared above the remaining ground.
I flew upward and glided through the air, over town. A small line of kids held out their hands. I flew straight down, and glided towards the children and high-fived them all as they cheered and screamed with excitement. I then extended upward. A small crowd followed me, yelling and whooping along the way. I glided towards the cabins and then dove through the air. My suit automatically changed back to normal with no flaps. I dove down to the ground, dive rolled, and continued running, the small crowd stopping at the cabins, and I could hear a small applause as they clapped for my "performance".
I ran towards cabin 70A, Trent's cabin and knocked on the door.
Trent instantly answered with a smile. "Yes, Scarlet?" Trent's black hair look like he had gotten out of bed, and his dark green eyes were glittering with mischief. I wouldn't have been surprised if he hadn't even showered yet.
"I have HUGE news!" I exclaimed.
Trent leaned against the doorway and listened intently as I told him about the meeting.
"You want ME to come?!" he said.
I nodded in reply. "Well duh! I'm also getting Katie, like I always do."
Trent nodded. "Let's go then!"
We both ran to cabin 30C.
Katie looked through the door.
"Let me guess, you both started dating?"
Trent looked down and shook his head. I felt my cheeks flush in embarrassment. Out of the corner of my eye I caught Trent's cheeks turn a tomato red, too. I looked at her straight in the eye, as she got the message that no, we were still friends.
"No," I said. I told her about the meeting.
"Oh, of course I'd LOVE to come!" she exclaimed with a wide smile. "Noon you said?"
I nodded. "The plan is is we all go to lunch at 11:30, chow down quick, and hang out until 11:55. We then wait at the doors. Otherwise, just do what you gotta get done today, but remember, 11:30!"
Both nodded in agreement, and promised to remember.
"I'm going to go to the.."
"Let me guess... the nursery?" Trent said.
"You know it!" Katie said with a playful smile.
"How about you Trent?" I asked, turning to him.
He shrugged. "Probably go lift some weights at the training center."
"Cool," I said. "I'm gonna go say hi to a friend."
We all said our goodbyes and went forward to our activities.
We all returned exactly at 11:30 and feasted upon chicken salads with mini cookies and milk for dessert.
Kate dunked her cookies in the milk and gobbled them down. "What do you think the meeting is about?"
Trent lightly tapped the cookie on his glass before eating it and said, "I don't know, did it say Scarlet?"
I swallowed the last cookie. "Nope, not a clue. It said it wasn't in my scroll because it was private."
"Dun dun dun!" Katie said, lightly pounding her fists on the table to every "Dun" said.
I sighed. "I'm worried that this is private, because it could scare the public."
"What do you mean?" Trent asked, perplexed. "We have our powers and have the ability to control fire, water, earth and wind! What could possibly be scarier than that?"
"What I'm trying to say is, is that the reason because of my quest might scare the camps. Like, we might have to go into the castle where all the Shades live and attack it since they somehow interfered with the camps. We might have to do it because they're trying to destroy us in the most despicable way possible."
Trent now showed complete understanding.
I created a water ball, that I extended upward, so it was like a mirror. I checked for any gunk in my teeth. After no sign, I whisked the water ball away by pointing towards the ground, where it soaked in and dried quickly. I had a habit of making sure I was presentable.
We discussed and guessed what the meeting was about. Katie claimed she thought it was about the Shades' population was growing too fast and Trent disagreed and thought it was about the missing element.
We continued this argument until 11:55 approached. We all ran quickly to the doors of the Grand Empire. It was a giant building that had turquoise, marble columns that supported the giant building. It was said that it glowed at night to keep the monsters away. The same ones outlines the pathway to the Grand Master's Peace Seeker, which was a special design of the badge that lightly glowed turquoise as the master floated with its power, letting the Crystal of Elements circle around him. The building itself was made of reddish-brown marble. The whole place was filled with secret rooms and was dimly lit, just for the purpose of the secret doors.
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught Trent tapping his foot, deciding whether or not to mind message me. Mind-messaging was a special way that Elementalists used to communicate. You could hear the person like they were talking, but you they person wasn't actually talking, just silent.
You mine as well talk now. I began. Is something on your mind?
Are you ready? asked Trent
I was born ready. I said, with a grin of confidence and a fierce look of readiness in my eyes. Not only seconds later, the bell on the Grand Empire announced noon, and we all stood there stiff legged, as we waited for the meeting to begin.
