I awoke quite early: even before the sun rose. The shades were coming at dawn, so I had to be up before hand. I didn't have time to shower, I only put my hair up and got on my suit and a full body set of silver armor with golden rims and designs. It was given to me by the Masters for completing a particularly hard mission with a dragon. I strapped on the quiver and then the bow, until I almost forgot...
Who's gonna babysit Fage while I'm gone?
I ran over to Atlas, and said, I forgot to get a babysitter! Fage can't sit down there alone. What if a Shade tries to get her?!
Calm and collected, Atlas replied, Do not worry, Winter is babysitting Fage today.
But isn't she needed for the battle? I asked.
Atlas looked off into the distance, and replied, You know how Stallion is so happy and boppy? Winter is kind of he same thing, and they both do not like to fight in battles. They will fight if they need to, but feel that peace should prosper, not war. Although, the opposite applies to Tiger, who feels as if war and violence is the only way to settle disputes. Me... I'm in between. I would say that when peace is possible, I'd choose it, but if war is inevitable, it's gonna happen I guess, whether we want peace or not. All I know, is that Winter is powerful for a peaceful person, and she loves babysitting.
I smiled, and said, Good, because I don't know how long this war is going to be. It could be days for all I know. I know though that Shades are cowardly at defeat, and once they know they don't stand a chance, they surrender automatically. I just am still curious as to what this surprise is. Spies have been lurking around camp and have no idea as to what this surprise will mean to us. Battle formations haven't changed, the groups are marching to us silently as we speak, and I need to figure it out before I realize how much it will help us or hurt us.
Winter suddenly flew in through the window, and said, I'm here! Is Fage downstairs?
No, I replied. She's up here, but I need to carry her downstairs, though.
Leave that to me! Winter said excitedly. I can move her with the elements downstairs on the couch. Atlas informed me that there's stuff downstairs for her to do and possibly mice down there for me to feast upon?
I nodded. Yea... there's a mice problem, so if Fage doesn't seem that interested in you, you can try to find those mice... I mean, if you don't mind.
Gladly! Winter said, and then flew into her room.
Atlas and I nodded at each other, and we silently took off down to camp.
As I sprinted down the steep hill, I saw that there was a soft murmur that could be heard. I could visibly see everyone in position: the normal Elementalists were in position to put their traps into affect, the army was positioned-both visibly and invisibly-both inside and outside of the camp. I could tell the invisible two lines were in position because of the volume of the murmurs.
I went into the very center of the camp when we made it down the hill, carefully leaping over positioned traps so I wouldn't trigger any off too early.
You know, Atlas said. The spirits you have in your crystal allow you to use their abilities.
What do you mean? I asked.
There's a spirit of an eagle in your crystal, she began to explain. And you'll be able to use their wings.
For real?! I asked excitedly.
Yep, she answered simply. You just need to focus and imagine them forming to your desired size and everything.
I did so, closing my eyes, and imagining the little strings of spirit coming out of my crystal and forming into beautifully crafted wings, which were ghostly and glowing blue, and they looked at realistic as an eagles' wings.
I opened, and gaped and gawked at the wings as I turned around and saw the wings had formed successfully. They looked so realistically and when I experimented with how they worked, they worked like legit wings.
I suddenly heard a cry over the camp, which announced, "The Shades are coming!"
The camp all at once silenced as the murmur muted and you suddenly hear the sound of clinking armor off in the distance, and you could hear the marching of many shades marching into a dozen groups. The groups got into their position, and a single Shade stood forward, and hissed, "Camp Elemental! We ask of your automatic surrender, for we should save many lives. You shall be turned into slaves and we will take over the camp! You have no chance against the Kingdom of Shades!"
Hisses and admittedly creepy battle cries rang throughout the camp.
I confidently flew up, and there was a slight gasp coming from both the Shades and the Elementalists.
"I wish to battle for the safety of my own people!" I yelled. "And we have one element that you'll never guess!"
"And that is?" the Shade asked confidently.
"The element..." I said. "SURPRISE!"
The two dozen lines had closed in on the groups, and appeared and attacked at the word surprise.
