Fight On

I slashed into them with rage and bloodlust

I slashed into them with rage and bloodlust. I wasn't choosing to do this. It just happened. A lion is no loving creature. It's deceptive and cunning. A lion knows stealth and lives for the kill. A coldblooded killing-machine.

In that moment I understood. My nickname wasn't meant for pride or envy. It was to instill fear. To ward off those who would oppose me. My name was a barrier to enforce my demise.

I spun gracefully eliminating everything in reach. There was no way to turn it off. To get the old me back. It's one of those experiences where you just have to wait for it to resolve itself.

Deep down I knew this was stupid. But if my act of insanity drew their attention for even a second to give Kirito a chance, it would be worth it.

"The Sylphs! And the Cait Sith dragoons?!"

Reinforcements. Splendid, I can leave things to them now.

I dropped my blades and my wings faded to nothing. I felt a pair of arms wrap around me.

"You did well" Kirito smiled. The leader of the Cait Siths flew up to us and brought my exhausted body to the base again.

Good hunting. I leave the rest to you.

I remember so much light I could barely keep up with who was causing it. But I knew something happened when everyone began falling back.

Leafa, the girl I entered the raid with originally, picked me up and walked me out of the large doors.

"You were pretty insane" she laughed.

"I get that alot" I muttered stretching my muscles. Oh my brain is going to hurt when I wake up...

"So... how did you meet Kirito?" She asked. I looked down at the broken rapier next to me.

"It was a long time ago, we were different people back then" I smiled to myself. Pain must've been written all over my face because she began apologizing like there was no tomorrow.

"It was none of my business forgive me-"

"You're alike" I laughed. "You're Suguha right?"

She looked at me shocked.

"Don't worry. Your brother cares about you. Otherwise he wouldn't have come crying to me like a baby every day. He needs to grow a pair I swear" I groaned.

She laughed at my comment and I realized who I was talking to. Oops. That must've been a bit awkward. Maybe it's just me.

"Well, my job here is done. I ought to log off" I sighed. Sugu nodded and we bid our farewells.

"Well?!"

I groaned placing the nerve gear on the table next to me and hid under the blanket.

"So impatient. I want to sleep" I whined curling into a ball. Klein pulled me closer to him causing me to yelp unexpectedly.

"What happened in there?" He interrogated with wide eyes.

"We'll find out soon enough won't we" I muttered glancing out the window. The sun was setting.
