I couldn't help myself. Next week was Rei's birthday and Kirito and Asuna wanted to plan something so I was the first to volunteer. Technically I should be the one planning.
"Sooo... what do we even do? Klein! You know her the most" Agil laughed singling me out.
"Yeah when she's not abusing me" I smiled to myself. She was beyond aggressively passive lately. Normally she'd smack me over the head at least once a day but she's spent her days sleeping and cooking. Its strange.
"Well? Ideas?" Everyone insisted. I hated focusing under pressure. I crack very easily.
"What about a small trip? We could all go to the beach or something" Asuna beamed. I have a feeling Asuna wants to do this no matter if it's for Rei's party or not.
"Barbecue on the beach sounds fun" Agil nodded with approval.
"What about presents?"
My face turned fifty shades of red. I actually got that covered.
"Hmm" Silica was deep in thought.
"A stuffed lion cub!" Agil cheered.
"I'm pretty sure she'd hate you for that" I smirked. He shooed me off dismissively acknowledging that a lion was going to be his present to her.
"I'll cover the food as well" Agil added before disappearing into the back.

"Just a little while longer" I sighed. Rei was in my car and we were almost at the resort Asuna managed to book for the group of us.
Rei promised to keep her eyes closed the entire ride and took it as the chance to fall asleep again. She was so peaceful it was breathtaking.
I held her hand for the remainder of the drive until we arrived. I don't wanna go now. She's too adorable.
"We're here" I muttered poking her. She groaned and rubbed the sleep from her eyes before grinning wildly.
"The beach?! Let's go!" She squealed. I couldn't get out fast enough before she was dragging me to the edge of the water. She sifted through the water and sand searching for shells when I noticed the others sneaking up behind us.
"Surprise Rei!" Liz yelled. She fell over in shock and laughed.
"Now my clothes are all wet!" She giggled standing up. Asuna dragged her to the girls room to change into swimsuits and I stood outside talking with Kirito.
"It's just dawned on me that I never did anything like this with Asuna yet. Good call on her part" He chuckled to himself. It was cute seeing him so giddy over a girl. I punched his shoulder playfully and looked up at the sky.
