Chapter 3

“How is it possible, she's a human for fuck sakes,” Chloe gasped, not even the the alpha of the James pack, Conner had completed the test. Hell, she herself passed out in exhaustion half way though and she was a born werewolf. It was impossible that, that girl was telling the truth.

“ I have no clue.... It's weird you know... ever sense she's got here there's been some kind of 'shift' in the air. How can I explain it, it's like she has a connection with this place.” Cheyanne spoke.

“ We have to do some digging, find out who she is, who her parent's are, where she came from. It's not normal.” Chloe said as she dug her water bottle out of her bag.

“ Nobody here is normal Chloe, were not even human. Well except for the flee.” Nate said as he walked with them.

“ Flee?” Leslie questioned with a smirk.

“ Yeah someone who's always here but you just want to buy some shit and get rid of her for good, like hell. We can't even shift while she's here, do you know how hard that's going to be?” Nate questioned.

“ I want her gone.” Chloe stated.

“ I second that.” Nate and Leslie said at the same time.

'shift' it floated though Jessie's mind all day. Unaware to the others, I heard their conversation. They referred to me as a flee, they wanted gone. So they

can 'shift' in peace. Shift from what? Shift positions? Shift groups? Shift bunks? I had no clue. But one thing was for sure. I would not be befriending any of them, under the promise that they wanted to be friends. Hell to the no, they wanted to know my past. The past I have kept under locks for years. My finger's twitched as I put my hand in my bag to hold the bottle of sleeping pills.

What is wrong with them? Come to think of it, they might actually be clinically insane. They said and I quote, ' none of us is human, except for the flee.' What the hell did they think they were? Rabbits?

“ Jess, the group wants you to stay in a tent with one of campers on this trip. Her brother caught the flu, and she demanded to still come. But there isn't anyone for her to stay in camp with.” Angel said.

“ Why me?” I questioned tilting my head to the side.

“ I don't know, they just asked her to point out one of the group leaders for her to stay with, and she picked you. She's sixteen by the way and she seems nice.” Angel said as we caught up to the front of the group.

“ Okay everyone! So as you can see we are now entering the west wing of the park. These grounds are protected as well as all animals that are in it. If you see anything suspicious just tell a camp leader and we'll deal with it. So as I can see here on the file, you guys want to go out deep into the west wing. We haven't travelled there much, but we do know it's going to be a long hike and tiring. So we will stop and camp at a few places before we reach our detestation.” Caden spoke with authority. The group nodded as we started getting deeper into the woods. It was actually beautiful out here. Calming. As I brushed my hand along some tree's on the way. Feeling the bulky, cold trunks on the beautiful tall tree's. The breeze was even refreshing.

“ Hey, I'm Sadie.” A girl said as she started to lightly jog next to me.

“ Jessie, nice to meet you.” I said as I shook her hand.

Sadie, although only sixteen, looked more mature than half the people I have met here, and after awhile of talking to her, I realized she was just as mature with her words and actions.
