Dear J,
I'm back in my classes.
They're the usual.
Boring.
I find myself wanting to go to work and swim practice.
Even though swim practice is real hard.
I make my way past the people enjoying their life's.
I see people making out, laughing, smiling, sleeping.
I want that too.
I do have that but I just don't show it.
I don't want to show it anyways.
When I get to swim practice, I walk to the locker rooms.
My friend, Sadie, is standing there smiling when I come in.
She talks to me and I listen silently, nodding when needed.
We walk out together and stretch together.
This other girl, Ashley, is a real bitch.
She always had to have what she wants and anyone she wants.
It's like we're in high school but on a campus.
We've had a few... encounters before.
She not a really good swimmer.
But it's the only thing she can do semi-well.
She's always challenged me to a 'swim off'.
I've always beaten her.
She's a junior in college and I'm a freshmen.
I'm one of the best swimmers on the team.
Aside from the seniors.
I can beat some of them, though.
Sadie is good too.
We're about even, but I beat her by just a little.
After swim practice, Sadie and I go to the nearest coffee shop.
We sit and chat about things.
She asked about Aaron and just the mention of his name makes me smile.
I talk about him to her and she says that she's jealous.
I ask why.
She says because she wants what I have.
I say that Aaron has a friend.
Her eyes light up like a kids on Christmas.
I told her his name is Jack.
I told her what he looks like.
He has blonde hair, chocolate brown eyes, he's 6'1, abs, lean muscles and plays football as a line backer.
She asks for his number and I give it to her.
I text Jack quickly to say he's gonna get a text from my friend Sadie.
He says okay with a smily face.
I love doing that.
Miss you.
Love,
Annalise
