-Pete's POV-

I stood outside the adoption building waiting. The lady at the desk told me Patrick would be out any minute. So here I wait.

About five minutes later he walked out not making eye contact with me. He still thinks I voluntarily sent him. "Patrick," I started, but he still didn't look up as we walked to the car. "I hope you know that I didn't voluntarily send you back,"

"Then why did I have to go back?"

"Because after Ashlee left the company wouldn't let us keep a child with only one adult in the house." I explained.

"Why didn't they tell me that?" He asked finally making eye contact.

"I don't know, Patrick. Are you still mad?"

He just shrugged. "Patrick,"

"I'm not mad." He sighed and I smiled as we started driving.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that."

"I told you I'm not mad." He insisted.

We drove the rest of the way home in silence. When we got to my house Patrick went into his room which is the same as when he left except for the absence of clothes and his guitar. I bought him a guitar stand as well.

"Ok, I'll let you get settled in." I said awkwardly leaving.

"Wait, can you stay?" He asked.

"Yeah," I told him sitting on his bed as I watched him put the clothes in the dresser.

"Pete do you like me?" He asked.

"Of course I like you, Patrick."

"I mean like like." Patrick clarified.

"If I didn't why would I have kissed you?" I challenged.
