Calypso gripped the steering wheel of her Subaru. She breathed heavily with nerves tangling in her mind. It took her ten minutes to set them straight. I'm only going to college; I'm finally pursuing my dream and it's not like I'm going to leave home forever, right? she said to herself, something she did constantly to feel less alone. Adjusting her glasses, Calypso took one last deep breath and set off for Parsons University. She turned on the radio to keep the nervous thoughts from seeping into her brain. The back of her old green sports wagon was packed to the brim with her belongings. -But it would remind us of when nothing really mattered, out of student loans and tree house homes we'd always take the latter, the song on the radio said. "Obviously," Calypso muttered under her breath, laughing bitterly at the thought of her extensive college tuition. She still had a long way to drive and the songs were already hitting close to home. At the next gas station, she chose one of her favourite CDs (Death of a Bachelor) and practically jammed it into the slot. I can't take these songs on the radio much longer, Calypso thought. As the first notes of Panic ! At the Disco came on, Calypso's stress seemed to melt away. Soon the environment was quickly dissolving with each lyric.
