Chapter Five
"Crap!" I gasped as he grabs my arm, heading to the front door. "What is wrong with you?" I asked, walking out of the store.
"Carl. You can call me Carl." He answered, letting go of his grip on my arm.
I don't know why he was acting that way towards me. I couldn't tell if it was pity he was feeling for me, if he was just trying to be nice, or if it was already something. Something I don't know if it still exists since the outbreak began, love. Love at this time around? Well that is shit, I think to myself.
We left the place we know it could have gone hell at any moment. Our sight was clear from the walkers. It seemed as they started heading to the back of the store.
"Do you have a group?" Asked Carl turning his gaze to me. The moonlight was enough for me to see his pair of blue eyes.
"Wow." I murmured, looking down as I felt the temperature rise from my cheeks.
"What was that?" He said, slighty furrowing his eyebrows.
God he's so blessed.
"I mean no. I don't have a group." I said, clarifying what he might just heard.
The girl gave him a look, maybe wondering why he'd asked that question as I am.
"We have a prison. The fences are built up high enough for us to be safe for now." He said, smirking at the last two words.
"Carl are you sure..." The girl was interrupted by Carl.
"Yes, Michonne. I am sure." He said, looking straight to the girl.
"It's okay not to let me in to your group. I think I can handle myself out here. At least I can try." I said, hoping there wouldn't be another arguement.
"How many walkers have you killed?" Asked Carl without paying attention to what I have just said.
"Many of them. A dozen or more." I said, quite not sure about the answer.
"How many people have you killed?" He said, trying to catch up with me.
I just walked pass by him and now he catched up so easily. "One." I answered, thinking if this was an interview during an apocalypse.
"Why?" He said. I could see he's looking at me in the corner of my eyes.
"Because mom asked me to. She was bit by my dad and she asked me to." I said in a raging voice, with tears starting to shed again.
"I'm sorry." He said and the girl turned her look around.
"What is your name?" She asked, trying to change the atmosphere.
"My name is Erin." I said, answering the question she just threw at me.
"I'm Michonne." The girl said, making me slighty smile.
"We're close to the prison. We'll talk to my dad when we got there." Said Carl, making us pay attention to the road we're taking.
As the three of us kept walking, tall fences started to appear on the sight. It was a prison. A girl with a brown hair and a guy who seems to be Asian was waiting behind the fences. They are about to open the gates but they pointed out their guns instead.
"Woah." I muttured, raising both hands. I worried one of them might pull the trigger and shoot me at any minute.
"It's okay, Glenn. She gave her weapon to us. She brings no harm." Explained Carl, motioning to put their guns down.
"We're sorry." They guy said, opening up the gates.
"I understand you're doing these things for your group." I said as we walked inside. They both smiled and I did gave them too.
"Where is dad?" Carl asked, taking a look at the buildings.
"He's in a meeting with Hershel and Carol." The girl answered in a soft and calmed voice.
"Thank you. We're going to see him." He said, motioning us to follow him.
We entered a cell block. I heard a group of people muttering.
"Dad? It's me and Michonne. We've got someone with us." Carl said who seemed so happy to be back on their home. I wish I could find another safe place, the one I can call home.
"Carl?" Someone with a very manly voice said.
**A/N: We didn't had an interaction on the previous chapter (not the Updates + Announcements) so why do you think Carl acted that way towards Erin? I'm sorry if this chapter was so short for me. Please bare with it. Lmao love you babes ♡♡♡
