Mad Hatter

Chapter 3

//Peeta's POV//

I thought about her all that night. Something about her was so enchanting,  and I just couldn't get her out of my mind. Her intense stare that I already knew so well just flashing before my eyes. She was so... hypnotic. She put me under this spell and I can't seem to shake it off, she was taking over me.

Now I'm walking through the school hall's again. I make a turn and there's a crowd of people blocking me off.

I push through the crowd and find Katniss and Glimmer Hathaway standing across from each other. "What are you gonna do, huh? Are you gonna hit me with a tray, Mad Hatter?" Glimmer said, her hands on her hips.

"No, I have better things to do with my time than waste my energy on you." Katniss replied, her voice calm.

"Oh yeah? Well it seems like your parents decided that weren't going to waste their energy on you when they put you up for adoption." Glimmer smirked.

As soon as she said it the air seemed to get thinner. Katniss' eyes were on fire, and you could tell she was beyond pissed. My stomach dropped as Katniss pulled out a knife from her waist line and lunged at Glimmer.

Before I could stop myself, I ran and grabbed Katniss' arms. She looked at me like she was in a daze, almost. "It's not worth it, Katniss. She's not worth it." I said, trying to calm her down. "Give me the knife please." She slowly handed me the knife. I let her go and she grabbed her bag. She turned towards me and tipped her hat. Then she quickly dissappeared down the hallway.

 I looked over at Glimmer. She was crying and her friend was hugging her. I shook my head and walked to my next class.
