He Left?

Just about an hour ago my sisters in laws left. Which leaves my aunts and parents and me and Ayaan here. We're all talking about the wedding when Ayaan gets a phone call. His shoulder tense up and he leaves the room.

Before this he was continuously texting away. Probably some business deal. But it looked something more than just stressing over business.

"Aliyah darling are you okay?" My aunt asks.

"Yeah. I'm fine," I tell her.

"What colour are you going for? For the wedding," she asks.

"I'm thinking light cream coloured or I could go bold too," I reply.

Thirty minutes pass by and Ayaan still isn't done with his phone call. I get up to see what's wrong. After checking the entire house I see him outside in the backyard.

Just as I step out he turns around and ends the call. But he still hasn't seen me.

"Everything good?"

"Aliyah," he merely whispers.

I give him a questioning look. He walks towards and caresses my cheek. I could see mixed emotions in his eyes, until the coldness comes. He removes his hand from my cheek and I flinch at his cold behaviour. What the hell?

"I've to leave,"

"I'm going to Switzerland," with that he turns to leave, but I grab his arm.

"For business?" I ask.

"Yeah. I will be back Aliyah, before our trip. I promise," he says. With that he kisses my forehead and leaves.

What just happened. Why was he suddenly cold? I should've asked him about this sudden trip. But I trust him. He'll be back.

I walk back inside to see Ayaan saying bye to everyone. After he leaves everyone turns to me with questioning looks.

"Mama can you guys drop me off at my house later?" I ask, since I came in Ayaan's car and he took it.

"Why don't you stay with us?" She asks.

"No mama it's okay,"

"It's just a matter of few days,"

"Okay," I give in.

After about two hours everyone leaves and I help my mom clean the kitchen. After cleaning I head upstairs to my room. I take off my make up and change, I check to see if Ayaan has texted me. After realizing he's in the plane I put my phone back. Thinking back to what happened earlier, it seems strange. Sudden coldness, then promising to come back? Suddenly leaving? This hasn't happened before.

~ One week later ~

"Did he call you?" My mom asked me taking me out of my thoughts.

I look up at her and shake my head no.

"Aliyah eat. This past week you haven't eaten anything properly," she says concerned.

"Aliyah he's just busy with work," my dad adds.

"One week. The whole week he has been busy with work?" I question my dad.

"He didn't have 1 minute to call? To ask if I was okay? To tell me when he's coming back? Forget calling baba, he could've texted me," I tell my dad.

"The tickets have arrived for the vacation. It's in 7 days. I was going with my husband but it looks like he's not planning on coming back," at this point I'm not even talking to anyone.

Both my parents looked pissed. Especially my dad. My dad gets up and pats my head, then leaves. My mom kisses my forehead and starts praying.

He loved me right? He was the one who came to ask for my hand in marriage.

His assistant said he's busy with a lot of meetings. Is he really? Is he that busy that he can't call.

The rest of the week goes by really fast. Tomorrow is my flight. Our flight. But Ayaan still isn't back. He promised me he'll be back before our trip. Still hasn't replied to my texts or phone calls. At this point I'm beyond pissed. Fuck him. I convinced Sam to go on the vacation with me. Sam agreed right away. My bags are all packed and I'm ready to enjoy life. Sleep engulfs me as I'm deep in thoughts.

I wake up to birds chirping loudly away. Annoying ass birds. As I remember what day it is a smile creeps onto my face. It disappears as quickly as it appeared.

After about an hour of doing my hair and makeup I'm all set to leave. I say bye to my parents, they're happy. Why wouldn't they be? Their daughter is supposedly meeting her husband in London. I know I shouldn't have lied to my parents but I can't see them worried.

On my way to Sam's I buy large icecaps and cookies.

"Hey," she gets in the car.

"I got you icecap and cookies," I tell her. She smiles like a little child.

"Your debt is done. You got me large," she says.

"Sam how the fuck is it that I always owe you an icecap? This shit doesn't make sense," I ask slightly confused.

She laughs her evil laugh and makes slurping noises on purpose.

"So you're leaving your car at the airport?"

"No my secretary is coming to pick it up,"

"He hasn't called?" Sam asks.

"No,"

We get out of the car and head inside to board. As we're waiting in the line my phone lights up. I look down to see a strange number. I open the text message.

"Go to Greece Aliyah"

It's him. It's Ayaan. I show it to Sam and she calls him an asshole. I completely ignore his text and show the man our boarding passes.

"Sam you still have to tell me what happened with Ahmad," I tell her.

"Later," she replied.

Ayaan be ready. You think I'm going to Greece? I'll board the plane. But I won't land in Greece.

I will surely find out what the fuck you're up to.

Switzerland here I come.
