The loftwing flew around the battlefield and Link observed the battle. He should be down there, helping, he thought.

“Take me down loftwing! I demand to help my allies in combat.”

“DO NOT WORRY. MY REASON FOR AIDING YOU WILL COME SHORTLY!” At that moment, as though offering a blessing, three dragons appeared and circled the two. One was as blue as the water, one as red as lava and the final one, yellow as the sands. Link felt a throbbing coming from his sheath. He drew the Master Sword. There was a light emanating from the base of the blade. Link examined it closer and saw the light had formed from three golden triangles that had just appeared on the blade.

“This symbol…what?!” Link gasped. The yellow dragon approached then stopped a few metres shy of Link and the loftwing. Raising its arms, the creature smiled and then in a thunderous voice spoke.

THE LEGACY OF THE GODS DWELLS WITHIN THE MASTER SWORD. HERO! PRESENT THE SWORD BEFORE THE GODDESS.”

“What do you mean? The goddess is nowhere within sight!” The dragon laughed and the three dragons flew around each other in circles, faster and faster until they were a blur. The blur started to glow and there was a magnificent flash that blinded Link. When he regained his sight the dragons were gone, but in their place was the goddess, Hylia. She was standing on a nearby cliff that overlooked the Isle of the Goddess. The loftwing took them down and Link jumped off and ran towards her. As she approached he noticed that a sad look was upon her face.

“Hand me the Master Sword.” Link did as she said and she rested the blade flat along her hands and raised it to her face.  She turned and faced the raging battle below and spoke. While she spoke softly, her voice seemed magnified and all below could hear her. All fighting ceased and every eye looked upon the white goddess. “My country… my beloved people of Hylia… my humans. Live on and bear descendants, where the hands of the wicked cannot reach you. Beyond the great sea of clouds at the highest limits of the sky.” With one great swoop, the goddess swung the Master Sword, sending a white light of magic that cut a large outline of the Isle of the Goddess and some surrounding grassland. “And there… guard the legacy of the gods, the Triforce, from the wicked!” With another swing of the sword, the goddess Hylia rent the earth, pushing the earth around the shape she had created, away. Link knew what she was doing. It was time.
