Chapter 10: Balloons and Candles (pt 1)

Hailey's POV

It's been almost a year since our very first performance at Marty's Birthday party. The band's gone pretty far now, we've been able to perform in different stages. More people are coming around at Marty's bar every Saturday since he hired us and we manage to buy equipments from the salary he gives us. Since we've become more known around Sydney, we rarely go to his place and perform nowadays.We also have band accounts now on different websites! Ashton was the one who has lots of time updating them, we call him the 'advertising manager/drummer'. 

Saturday's gonna be our very first anniversary as a band since it's also Marty's birthday, I managed to talk to him if we can make a mini-concert at his place. I'm planning to create a surprise party after the show with actual birthday cake and stuffs, like a birthday party since it's actually the band's birthday.

I know the boys tend to forget about birthdates a lot. It's okay, I can make this party happen with the help of others:D

We're at Michael's place today for a song writing session. I'm going to start the plan now..

"Uhmmmm. Marty wants us to play at his place this Saturday."

Michael: We haven't been there in a while. but what for?

"I.. er.. uhm, he misses us? I don't know. Maybe he wants to see you after all."

Luke: But saturday's supposed to be our -- Ow! Why'd you do that for?

Luke was saying something when Calum slapped his right cheek hard

Calum: A bug was at your cheek. A big bug.

I didn't see any bug though? But Calum blew the thing off from his hand.

Ashton: Yeah , let's play at Marty's place since that's where-- huh?

I can't even see Ashton since Calum sat in front of me facing him.

"Calum, you're acting weird."

My cellphone began ringing and as I see Marty's name on the screen, I immediately covered it.

"Uhmm. I gotta answer this."

I went out of the room so the boys won't hear me.

" Yeah Marty?"

Marty: okay, the concert this Saturday's on.

"Really?! gosh. thank you Marty! thanks!"

Marty: was about to close the whole thing since it's my birthday too, you know.

"Come on Marty. Don't think we're the only one who's gonna benefit here."

I can hear him chuckling on the other side. Oh does he likes the bucks coming around.

Marty: heard you kids been all around Sydney now huh?

he said in a teasing voice.

"Well, we wouldn't be without you , old bud." I can hear him chuckling again from the other side.

Marty: No worries, sweet cheeks. Say hi to your mom and dad for me, okay?

"will do! Bye Marty!"

I made a little dance . The party's oooooonnnnnnnnn !!

Calum's POV

as soon as Hailey left the room to answer the phone. I tried to check the door if she's far enough so she would not hear us.

"Guyyyssss, I told you this secret party includes not telling it to Hailey !"
