Chapter 6~ Summer

Summers nearly here, my favourite time of the year! So that means... SUMMER FESTIVAL!

I'm really excited for this year because it feels like forever since summer has been. My town goes all out for carnivals, there's Merry go rounds, spinning tea cups and big wheels, and in the evening it's the most beautiful thing, the sky floods with colours that are just unimaginable, everyone sits in the field and has BBQ's and watch the sunset, it's the best.

*phone rings*

Me: "Hello?"

Brandon: "Hello, Naomi? It's me Brandon."

Me: "Oh Brandon! Ahhaha hi."

Brandon: " hey!....So um you know the carnival?"

Me: "yeah!"

Brandon: "Well, ummm... I was.. Ok so, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go with me?"

'Omg what do I do!? Ok stay calm be cool'

Me: "Of corse! That's sound really fun!"

Brandon: "ok cool, great, fantastic! Ok" he said sounding really enthusiastic and existed.

We talked a bit longer on where we were going to meet.

It's Saturday!! Summer festival is here!!

I quickly get dressed and have some breakfast. I spent like an hour choosing on what to were, I wanted to look nice but comfortable at the same time, so in the end I went with a white frilly blouse with some ripped jeans. Then I made my way down to the carnival to meet Brandon.

It's 12:00 and it's already packed. Usually everyone gets there at like 3:00 but not this year.

Everything looks amazing, it's like the scene out of the Notebook.

'Ok now I need to find Brandon' I thought trying to snap out of my ore of the scenery.

'We said we would meet by the giant oak tree' I thought while my eyes scanned the landscape.

There he was leaning against the tree. I walked over to him and tapped him on the shoulder.

M= me
B= Brandon

M: "Hey!"

B: "Naomi! hi" he said acting all surprised.

M: "wow it's really packed"

B: " I know right, didn't expect this! But woah isn't it amazing?"

M: "I know, just wait until the sun set then talk to me about amazing" we both giggled.

B: " I come down here quite often now in the evening, I like being here when it's all quiet and you can just listen to the river" he said looking at the floor with a small smile like he was picturing it all again.

We walked and talked and went on some rides, it was amazing.

The evening rolled around and everyone was started to make there way onto the field so we did too.

Everyone got there picnic blankets out and started watching the sunset.

We both watched for a bit but then I felt someone touch my hand.

B: "Come on there's something I wonna show you"

Brandon grabbed my hand and he started pulling me (gently) along somewhere.

He pulled my along to this small bridge that went over the river.

B: "You know earlier I told that I come down here often?"

I nodded.

B: " Well... I come here, and every time I come down I think, gosh it's so beautiful I wish Naomi could see this"

M: " Really?" I said gushing all over him.

B: "Yeah... I know it's silly but-"

M:" it's not silly, it's amazing"

He giggled a little bit.

B:" Thanks..." He smiled

We both watched the sunset for a bit. Then I could feel someone tapping my hand very slightly, so I moved my hand in closer. We slowly locked hands, I was shocked at first, does this mean he likes me!? But it felt... right and not awkward at all. I didn't want it to end.

I looked down at it then looked up to Brandon, who had done the same thing.

I golden light from the sun hit his face making his eyes look like crystals.

We smiled at each other, then he slowly lifted his arm and placed his hand on my cheek.

He slowly leaned in and so did I, both closing our eyes, but I soon as it could get any further we heard trebling foot steps.

We quickly backed away from each other and looked to see who was behind us.

Emma: "hey hey hey guys!!" She said, clearly drunk and so was Adam.

M: "Emma what are you doing here?, are you drunk?"

Emma: "of corse I'm f*cking drunk on a day like this" she slurred her words out, laughing at the same time.

M: "and Adam, are you drunk to?"

He had a guilty face.

Adam: "Yeahhhh...." He said sighing.

Emma: " Come on let's partyyyyyy"

She grabbed our arms and pulled us away.
