*set after the Titan War, before Percy gets kidnapped*
Percy turned out to be really good with Annabeth's brothers, Bobby and Matthew, because they looked up to him as a big hero. So once in a while, he would go over to Annabeth's and help babysit.
One time, he got there as usual, went up to Annabeth's room, and knocked on the door.
"Come in," a voice said distractedly. Percy smiled as he walked in.
His girlfriend's room was full of books, and at the moment, she was lying on her bed reading a particularly thick one.
"How's it going?" Percy greeted her. Annabeth looked up and gave him a small smile, then sat up.
"Sit down," she invited, patting the bed beside her. Percy obeyed, then looked at her, concerned.
"You okay?"
"I-I guess so," Annabeth replied slowly, "it's just... The New Great Prophecy, the one that Rachel gave..." She faltered.
"You're worried that we're involved somehow," Percy guessed. Annabeth managed another smile.
"You know me so well," she said. "It's just that... what if we are involved? What if something happens to us? What if...?" she broke off once again.
Percy pulled her into a hug, and she curled into his chest.
Just then, Bobby walked by. He gasped, then started running around the house, chanting "Annabeth has a boy-friend! Annabeth has a boy-friend!" Soon, Matthew joined in, Of course they knew that before, but they wanted to bug Annabeth.
Percy could feel Annabeth getting madder and madder. She wriggled out of his hug and ran down the stairs after her brothers. Finding them hiding behind her father and stepmother (who had been just about to leave), she started tearing into them, yelling angrily and pacing back and forth. Then Percy stepped in.
He vaulted over the railing and landed lightly behind Annabeth. He wrapped his arms around her and started whispering in his ear. Soon, Annabeth stopped yelling. She turned around and hugged Percy, sighing. The Chases stared at Percy in amazement. They didn't know of anyone who could calm Annabeth down when she was mad.
Well of course they don't, but lots of people at camp do. Or at least, they know who to go to, to do it for them.
I say it every time, I know. Comment! Tell me what you liked, what you didn't, if you have any suggestions, or any requests! I don't want to think my writing is perfect.
