Chapter 2

Peter's P.O.V

I wish Tiana didn't have dance classes today. I thought I'd ask her if she could skip her classes but most people who go for dance classes don't like skipping it. I wanted to know more about her for some damn reason so I asked her out, but she's not sure if she can come.

Meanwhile I've got my boring physics homework. I'm actually wondering how the hell does Tiana like physics. It's such a boring subject I wonder how she likes it. She even applies physics while playing BB. It's 8:00pm and I've only completed quarter of my homework when the bell rings. I ask my mom to open the door but she says " Please open it darn!!!" arrgh! Why mom why?

I go down to the hallway and when I open the door I find Tiana talking on the phone. She's wearing a black top and jeans pants. She signals me saying 'give me 2mins'. I think she's taking to an annoying guy in our class. When she's done I take her inside the house and my mom comes out of the kitchen. My mom says " Who's this young lady?" I say " She's Tiana." Tiana says " Hey Mrs.Hughes. I'm in the same class as Peter. He asked me to come over." I say " Yeah I told her that we'll be going to the cafe near the local mall." My mom says " Oh so you guys are already dating?" I blush but Tiana doesn't do so. In fact she just goes like " No we're not even friends. We just sit next to each other at class." That's so mean! My mom says " Oh okay then.....I've got to go back to the kitchen. See you'll later!" We both say bye and we leave the house.

I prefer walking so we take more time to reach the destination. She says " So why did you call me?" I say " Well......ummm....." She breaks in saying " Look! I've got to go home before my dad comes so you better hurry up." I say " I just wanted to question you. Firstly why are you sooo rude!? Secondly why are you against me!? Thirdly....well I'll ask you that after you give me the answers of the first two questions." She says " I'm rude to everybody after what's happening to me! Isn't it obvious? I'm also not against you. It's just that you are really annoying!" I say " Well I'm sorry if I'm annoying you. The next question.." It feels like I'm taking an interview. " ......Don't be like seriously. Okay? Why were you crying when you had banged into me?" She doesn't answer. Instead she freezes. I say " If you don't want to tell me fine......it...it..it's okay. Can we at least be friends?" She doesn't answer. I check her pulse and realize she's normally. She's just locked inside her flashbacks. I snap my fingers to get her attention and she says " Sorry. It was just the....." " It's okay." I break in " Can we be friends?" She says " As long as you don't piss me off." and she smiles. I say " Okay, I won't." She says " Can we go to Subway? I'll tell you the reason there." I say " Okay we can."

(At subway)

We both order chicken Teriyaki sandwiches and we take a two seater table. Meena has also come with her boy friend. They both come over to our table and Meena tells Tiana " So you guys are already dating? I thought you'd be upset that I stole your only crush and probably not come to school." I'm shocked but Tiana says " He's not my boy friend and I've given up on Daniel okay?" She's fighting to hold her tears. " It's Daniel's wish who he wants to love. He loves you and he's happy with you so don't give a shit about it!" Me and Daniel exchange looks since we find it awkward to be involved in a girls fight. Okay girls do fight for guys but not in front of their boyfriends and friends. Meena tells me " Your invited to my birthday party. It's at 8:00pm at the teens nightclub. It would be good if you stopped moving around with Tiana unless you want to be a freak." Tiana says excuse me and gets out of her seat. But Meena stops her and she freezes. Then Meena says " Don't try and be popular!It's no use cause your a freak and nobody likes freaks. In fact you'd probably be happy if you were dead than alive." Then Meena moves away with Daniel and Tiana runs to the washroom with tears streaming down her face.

Tiana's P.O.V

I hate Meena for what she's done! I don't get it as to why she has to humiliate me in front of Daniel and Peter. It's getting really annoying. In fact I don't think I'm ready to face Peter now. I just hope he's gone back home. I don't even mind paying the bill. I wash my face with lots of cold water and then I wipe it with tissues.

After 5mins I leave the washroom. Great! Peter's gone home but he's paid the bill. I get out of the restaurant and someone puts their hand on my mouth and pulls me towards the empty sidewalk. I bite the person's hand and the person says " Ouch! You know that hurts Tiana!" I realize it's Peter. I say " Why didn't you go home?" He says " A gentleman doesn't leave a lady walking alone at night." He smiles to lighten up the mood but I don't. In fact I look more grumpy. He says " Stop making that face. You look more prettier when you smile." I say " Like I care about my looks. Who likes me anyways?" He says " Well I do....I...I...mean we're friends right?" I say " Ya we're friends."

We continue walking towards my house when he says " You used to like Daniel? I thought you were always single." She says " Ya I used to like him since gr5 but he's not single anymore. I used to be after him 24/7. I even asked him for his phone number and also told him I liked him. But I never got the answer until today. So now I'm single." I give a weary smile but Peter looks at me seriously and I say " What? Why are you looking at me like that?" He blushes and says " Nothing. Just simply looking at you. Now I can't even look at you?" I give out a light laugh and say " No you can doesn't matter now that we're friends." I'm wondering why he blushed. It's hard to tell the reason when guys blush.

I say "So now you know the reason why I was crying when I banged into you. You had a girl friend back home in Texas?" He says " How the hell do you know I'm from Texas?" I say " Sasha told me that you were from Texas 'cause she thinks I've got a craze of having Texan friends. One reason is cause Joy Womack an American ballet student studied at the Bolshoi. She was from Texas." He says " Ohkay....So ya I did have a girlfriend but she was a two timer and she had cheated on me so we broke up 6months ago." I say " That's sad." He says " She was kind of like you but she was popular in school 'cause she was part of the cheerleading group in our school. Your so much better than her. You've got the looks and the sense. Your even thin and flexible. It's a mystery your not in the cheerleding group in our school." I'm embarresed about what he said but I say " Who told you so much about me?" He says " I found out from that tall and muscular guy in our class. I think his name is....." "Oh him? As in Gavin? He's one of my best freinds, except that we don't talk about relationships. We talk about our unsupportive parents and our dreams of what we want to be when we grow up."I break in. He says " Ya him. What do you want to be when you grow up?" I dreamily say " I want to be a principal dancer. It's a term used in ballet. My dream is to dance the grand pas de deux of the sugar plum fairy and the prince." He says " Cool dream." I say " People never ask me what I want to be when I grow up. You know that I don't really have friends so ya our school is really weird."

We reach my home and luckily my dad didn't come although it's midnight. He says " Goodnight and sweet dreams." I say " Goodnight.".

Since my mom's watching T.V, I can sneek into my bedroom without a problem. I change my clothes, wash my face, pack my school back and go to sleep.
