"Ms. Federland!" shouted Tracy loudly as she went through the ever so growing crowd across the station. She signalled me for help as she was getting through the people so I walked towards her and pulled her over to a less crowded area.
"Phew, that sure was something," she said pointing her finger towards the crowd. "Anyways, I'm sorry if I was a little late. We had a small meeting concerning the event today," she said bowing her head in apology. "Apparently, the billionaire writer won't be able to make it today."
"What!?" I shouted, "B-b-b-but he invited me here for an interview. What happened?"
"They said he got some sort of weird sickness that he couldn't make it or something." Tracy got closer to me and whispered, "At least, that's what they said, but I heard some rumors that it was some security protocol thing. I heard that there is some terrorist activity going on or something."
"Yet they're putting other people in danger?" I said with a concern on my face.
"I don't know. It's just a rumor. It did seem like they deployed their best tactical force to go undercover... but like I said, rumors."
"Rumors or not, they should cancel this event for the safety of everyone."
"No can do. This event is televised all over the world. They don't want to have any kind of commotion based on rumors."
"Ta-dah!" Tracy suddenly smiled and pulled out her own ticket and a coupon. This is unexpected! We worked hard in organizing and setting everything up for this event and I thought our efforts will just go to waste, but because of this unforeseen circumstance, the staff was compensated for their hard work with a round-trip ticket and overnight stay at the most expensive hotel in the Philippines!"
"O-ok."
"Which means... I can spend more time with you! You can tell me more about my future prince charning! You can also share stories about your fortune telling if you want," she said with a big smile on her face.
"You sure are a pushy girl," I said accepting my fate to stay with this girl the whole trip.
We were suddenly interrupted by an announcement of the start of the event. Major sponsors and representatives gave their opening remarks at the stage near the boarding station, so we decided to head closer to listen to some boring speech until they open the gates for the train. The funny thing is, my mind was somewhere else. While hearing the boring speech and Tracy's banters on the other ear, I can only think about the missed opportunity of meeting the writer once again.
