Chapter Thirty

[Selena's POV]

Making my way upstairs I head down to the bedroom. I knock softly on the door before opening it just wide enough to where I could peek my head inside. Justin was still passed out on the bed and had not moved since the last time I had came up to check on him. He's been out for a good two hours now.

The nurse wasn't lying when she said he was under some heavy medication.

I was wanting to wait until Justin woke up to come in and change so I wouldn't wake him, but these tight clothes were really beginning to become uncomfortable. Trying my best to not wake Justin I tiptoe into the bedroom and make my way over to the dresser. I pull out a pair of comfortable sweatpants and a tank top and head into the bathroom. I strip out of my clothes and change into the clothes I had just picked out. I take a comb through my hair and decide to just leave it down instead of throwing it up into a ponytail. Turning the faucet on I try to keep it on low in order to keep quiet before splashing cold water on my face.

Once I'm finished I exit the bathroom. Thankfully, Justin was still sound asleep as I headed for the bedroom door to leave. I'm not sure what exactly happened to him when he left with Caroline, but it was obvious that he went through hell seeing all the wounds and bruises he had on his body. He deserves nothing more then some much needed rest at the moment.

I twist the doorknob to open the door to leave when I hear Justin groan softly behind me. I look over my shoulder to see him shifting in the bed with a pained look on his face. Sighing, I walk over to the side of the bed and put my hand on his shoulder which makes his eyes snap open.

"Try not to move so much," I say, rubbing his shoulder in a comforting manner. "Do you need me to run downstairs and get you some pain pills?"

Justin shakes his head. "I'm just sore." he replies, slowly shifting himself upright in the bed with his back pressed up against the headboard.

"You sure?" I ask, running my fingers through the front of his hair to get the strands out of his eyes. He nods his head and I take a seat next to him on the edge of the bed. "What happened, Justin?"

He takes in a breath. "I got set up." he says, his eyes meeting with mine for only a second before he looks away. "That's what happened."

"Who set you up?" I ask.

"After that day I almost killed Caroline this unknown number started texting me." Justin begins. "The person kept texting me and telling me how he wanted me to bring Caroline to them. If I didn't bring her to them by midnight the next day they threatened to hurt you. And of course I wasn't going to put your life in danger, so I agreed to take Caroline to the address they had sent me." He places his hand on my thigh as his eyes meet with mine. "That's why I left with Caroline. Not because I wanted to, but I had to in order to keep you safe."

I bite my lip. "What happened after that?" I ask, wanting him to continue his story.

"I took Caroline to the address they had sent me like they wanted but they wanted me to meet up with somebody." Justin explains. "Thinking I should just do what they ordered, I ended up meeting up with one of the guys who was working for the unknown person that was texting me. He said I owed him money and when I refused to give him any he showed me how they had cameras inside the house along with the bomb planted underneath." He pauses and I intertwine our fingers together in a gesture for him to continue. "I saw you on the screen and knew this guy meant business and I wasn't going to take any chances with him. So after I gave him the money he also took my phone and if it wasn't for that I would have called you immediately to warn you about the bomb."
