The New Boy (Shawn Mendes + Victorious)

Chapter 2: "We're clapping because it's over!"

Tori's POV

"Okay, so as you know we have new students in this school..." The principal addressed. 

"Oh what a great start to the speech..." Jade began.

"Jade! Stop spoiling the moment! So, as I was saying, these new students need your support in order for them to gain confidence and to fit in with you guys. So, we'll be watching 5 performances in total today." 

Everyone groaned, even me.

"And then another 5 tomorrow..."

We groaned again.

"And finally, 10 on Friday." 

Suddenly, Cat threw a huge fit and stormed out of the theatre. 

"Man, do you know how talentless these people are?" Robbie told me, I gave him a strange look. 

"You have no talent." I said back. He gasped and pouted.

After watching 4 performances, it was time for one final act.

"Okay, last up we have Shawn Mendes! A new student who started just this week! He'll be doing a performance by singing!" All the girls except Jade applauded and screamed. When he appeared onstage, Trina ran towards the stage to try and grope Shawn. I face-palmed myself. Trina, how could you?

"Shawn! Shawn! I love you! Please come with me!" She said, grabbing hold of his arm and attempting to drag him offstage, luckily the principal and a few strong students freed her.

"Call me! I'm Trina Vega! That's T-R-I...." She was dragged out of the theatre before she could finish what she was saying.

"Well, without further ado, I give you Shawn Mendes!" The principal announced.

"I'm gonna go for a bathroom break. A long bathroom break." Jade stood up and left. Shawn came out and we all screamed. Girls immediately jumped out of your seats and soon, the theatre was so loud the windows could break off soon.

Jade's POV

I don't like Shawn. He thinks he's so talented than I am? Oh we'll see about that. Honestly, he is kinda cute, but I don't like the way he's better than me...

"Jade, what's the matter?" It's Tori. 

"I don't like Shawn's talent! It sucks!" I admitted.

"Oh come on, have you not heard his voice? And his smile, oh god it's..." I shot her a death glare.

"...Yeah, um he actually sucks." She replied sarcastically. 

"But you were right. About his smile. He's....cute." 

"Can I ask you something? Are you jealous of his acting?" 

"Okay you wanna know the truth?" 

"Before you started school here we had to do the same thing. You know, watch new freshman perform and show off their talent. Harry Styles from One Direction performed and his talent was really good. Him and I competed against each other at the final show to see who had the best talent. He won and I understood that, but then he kept rubbing it in on my face and I guess it made me furious and...insecure." I confessed to her.

"Oh, wow. Um, I'm sure Shawn's not like that. Come on, we gotta head back before someone catches us." We both headed back to the theatre to find Shawn singing. 

"Hey! It's my favourite song! I know what you did last summer!" Tori exclaimed.

"I know what I'm gonna do to him this summer if he rubs his talent all over me." I protested. When the song finished, everyone cheered for him. But of course, there's me doing it sarcastically.

"Yeah! We're clapping because it's over!" I screamed loud enough for him to hear me. Almost everyone turned their heads my way and gave me glares. Shawn looked at me feeling slightly uncomfortable. 

"JADE!!" The entire group said to me.

"What? I didn't like it!" I said back and stormed out of the theatre. 

Shawn, you better watch who you show off your talent to.
