Chapter 5: Mixed Feelings

Jade's POV

It's day one of our rehearsal for our play, and I'm still peeved off about yesterday with Tori and Shawn. I'm starting to have mixed feelings for that boy.

"J-Jade, I think we s-should start." Shawn came up to me and hesitantly started to breath abnormally.

"Shawn, don't be scared of me. I just, sorta lost my temper yesterday. Come on, let's rehearse." I told him and both of us went to one corner of the classroom.

Tori's POV

Here I am holding back the tears I wanna cry out since I have to act like Rex's girlfriend.

"ACTION!" Robbie shouted.

I didn't know what to do since there was no script, so I decided to just continue what I was doing. I went on my phone looked at my page on The Slap. All of a sudden, Rex comes out of nowhere and harshly kisses me. I tried to pull away, but he bit my lip quite hard, making me scream.

"Rex! What kind of a boyfriend are you!?" Sikowitz stopped our rehearsal.

"I'm just doing my impression of a boyfriend..." He trails off.

"Well no boyfriend just randomly scares the wazz out of their girlfriend and then suddenly kisses them until they can't breathe!!" I screamed at him and went to get a tissue to wipe Rex's spit off my mouth. "That's why you don't even have a girlfriend! You're not even a real human being!!" I added, getting really wazzed off. I think I'm starting to become like Jade.

"Tori, either you be nice to your "boyfriend" or you fail this assignment! Maybe that's why you're not in a relationship either!" Sikowitz back-sassed.

"Well!" I scoffed and continued my horrible rehearsal with Rex, please let time go faster. I just want this class to end.

Jade's POV

"Alright, so what are you singing?" I asked him, so I can prepare something better.

"Well, I've decided to go for an old favourite... I'm singing Aftertaste." He replied, this made me cringe a bit. I gulped.

"Is there a problem?" He said sassily, I quickly gave him a death glare and his expression changed to worried.

"No! But good luck winning." I back-talked.

"Look, Jade..." He began.

"WHAT!?" I lost my temper and just let my anger out on him. He seemed to be startled, but took a step closer.

Now, you're on, Shawn.

"I've been trying to be nice to you, but all you do is just throw your temper at me! Just tell me what's your problem!!" He raises his voice. Damn, boy.

"That's it, Shawn! Stand up for yourself!" I heard Tori whisper and I quickly glanced at her. She turned back quickly but I pulled her out of the classroom when Sikowitz wasn't looking.

"What do you think you're doing!?" I threw all my words at her.

"Making Shawn feel good, cause all you do it get mad at him. Seriously, forget about the past!" She exclaims.

"How many times do you have to tell you I can't!"

"Well, just sing something better when you do your play and then you'll feel good! Seriously, being famous also has it's drawbacks!"

I sighed, at least I've defeated someone famous if I win.

"Alright, but he's mine." I said, Tori laughed.

"No way that'll happen! He hates you."

"I'll hate you if you steal him from me!"

"You already hate me!"

"Oh, yeah... whatever he's mine." I said one more time and went back in the classroom.

Shawn's POV

Tori's been helping to try and get Jade to get along with me. She's really hot as well, I think I like her. Jade though, I don't really like her personality, but I guess she looks good, but definitely not better than Tori. I'll try and ask her out on the day of our play.

"Shawn, let's get rehearsing." Jade told me. Oh here we go, time to rehearse with the devil of Hollywood Arts.

"So, I'm singing Aftertaste, how about you?"

"Oh, it's a surprise. I'm sure you're gonna love it." She says and gives me a wink. I shivered, what if she's gonna attack me all of a sudden?

"Excuse me, I gotta run to the washroom." I said.

"Wait, what's a washroom!?" Jade asked, oh yeah. I'm in America. I shrugged it off and took Tori with me. We went out of the classroom far away from Jade's sight.

"Shawn! What's wrong?"

"I think Jade's coming out to get me! I need you to find out her song she's gonna sing! What if it's better than mine!?"

"Oh I'm sure it's gonna be bad. No worries, I gotcha."

"Aw, thanks Tori! I knew I could count on you!" I said and kissed her cheek, she squealed a bit and I laughed. We went back in the classroom to find Jade polishing a pair of sharp scissors.

"I can't wait for our play..." She says, continuing to sharpen the scissor, I gulped.

The bell rang and I headed for the cafeteria, without letting Jade know. I gave Tori a smile and winked at her, then I left before Jade could see me.
