Chapter 4: Project Partners

Tori's POV

OMG Shawn was in our class! I'll do my best to be his girl, just wait.

"Okay, class. I have a special project for you all. You guys are gonna be writing your own plays. Jade, what's yours called." Sikowitz started.

"I'd name mine Torturing Tori." Ugh, this girl never acts nice to me.

"Do you ever think of just one good thing about me?!" I blurted out at her.

"Okay, let's change it then! Class, I'll put you in partners and you two will act out a scene that's pulled out of this box." Sikowitz said.

Great! if I can partner up with Shawn I can ask him out on a date!

"So the partners are.... Beck and Robbie, André and Cat, Shawn and Jade..."

"Shawn and who?!" Jade protested.

"You wanna go with Tori instead?" Sikowitz asked and looked at me.

"Oh definitely not!" I argued back. Ain't no way Jade will be my partner for this!

"Then go with Shawn, Jade. Tori, you're with Rex."

"WHAT?!" I screamed as loud as I possibly can. Rex looked at me and winked, I shot him a death glare.

"Okay! Everyone, split into your groups and one of you come up and pick a piece of paper out of this box. These are due next week!" Sikowitz told everyone.

Jade's POV

Great, I just got partnered up with Shawn! This is gonna be interesting. I saw him approaching me, but he was feeling a kinda hesitant.

"H-Hi, Jade..." He stuttered, man he's cute when he does that.

"Hey, what's up?" I replied back casually. Now I get his nervous personality, I must've scared him earlier.

"Don't worry, I'm not gonna shove a scissor down your throat. Maybe..." I told him sarcastically, mumbling the last word. He flinched, wow. I must've scared him a lot.

"No, come on. Hang on, I'll get the paper." I said and went to Sikowitz.

"Okay Tori! What's your scene with Rex?" Sikowitz asked her.

"Two friends who become boyfriend and girl....friend." She read and cringed, I smirked. That's gonna be one interesting play.

"Hey, baby. Wanna kiss my smoochy lips?" Rex asked her in a flirty way. I'm already enjoying this. Tori screamed sadly and they both went to a quiet spot in a classroom.

I picked one out of the box and read it out loud.

"Two friends, but temporarily turn into rivals when they compete in a talent... show." I slowed down just before the end. This kinda reminds me of what happened before, with Harry Styles. I tensed a little and Shawn put a shoulder on my hand.

"J-Jade, are you o-okay?" He asked silently. This made me lose my temper.

"Am I alright? DOES THIS TONE OF VOICE SOUND ALRIGHT TO YOU?!" I screamed even though he was only like 5 feet away from me. He became even more scared and wanted to leave.

"No, no Shawn.. I..." I started but he already ran to one corner of the classroom.

"Jade! You better fix this or else you're getting an F in this assignment." Sikowitz warned just in time for the bell. Shawn and I have a spare next period, so I decided to talk to him.

I walked over to the spot he went to and hear his soft whimpers.

"Shawn, I don't know why I did that, it's just..." I said, softly but quite firmly.

He looked up at me and I saw his tear-stained face.

"Hold on, I'll get you a tissue." I told him and went to Sikowitz's desk, but all the tissues ran out, thanks Cat. I went outside the room and all the way to my locker where I have a bunch.

Tori's POV

I forgot my bag in Sikowitz's classroom, how stupid of me. I went inside to see Shawn in tears! Now what have you done to him, Jade?

I walked over to him and place a hand on his back, he looked up and formed a weak smile.

"T-Tori, i-is that you?" He whispered, choking on his sentences.

I didn't say anything back. Instead, I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him in for a hug. God, this boy's so cute. And I can't actually believe I'm hugging a famous singer.

He nuzzles his face in my shoulder as sobs continue to escape from his mouth.

When we pulled away, his face was less than a foot from me.

"Tori, I couldn't thank you for being here for me. Jade's scary..." He said back, I smiled. Yes, Jade can be scary.

"C-Can I kiss y-you? I mean, l-like to thank y-you for being here f-for me...?" He asked, my dream has come true. We leaned in and less than 5 seconds later, his lips touched mine. Sparks suddenly exploded inside of me. This was the best school day ever.

Jade's POV

I went back to Sikowitz's classroom with a box of tissues for Shawn. Honestly, I really like him but somehow I can't let go of the past. I'll do my best to convince him that I'm not as scary as, well some people think, and then ask him if he wants to be my boyfriend. I haven't really had another relationship since Beck and I broke up, but he's better off with someone else.

As I approached the classroom, I heard kissing sounds. I peeked through the door window to find Tori and Shawn kissing!?

Anger suddenly boiled inside of me. He's supposed to be my project partner and then goes off to have some lip-to-lip contact with a gank like Tori?

Not wanting to confront them, I walked off, taking the tissues with me. Shawn, you can tear up even more, you don't deserve any of my tissues!

This play isn't going to be just a play.

This is war.
