Chapter 8: Serious Talk

Shawn's POV

I took Jade out of the theatre to talk to her. I can sorta sense why she's mad at me.

"Are you jealous of my talent?" I asked her sincerely. Her eyes widened.

Jade's POV

"Are you jealous of my talent?" He asks me. I looked at him straight in the eye.

"Shawn, let me tell you a story that happened to me that still is a sensitive topic. A few years ago in The Big Showcase, I competed against Harry Styles in a singing competition..." I told him the full story. He gasped.

"Jade, I would never show off my talent against you. I heard your voice, it's actually beautiful. We should do a duet someday." He says calmly. I've never seen this side of me before. Usually, I'm terrifying against people, but Shawn makes me feel a lot more relaxed.

"Come on, let's get back to class." He says, offering his hand. I took it, but then let go.

"I can't. You're with Tori." I say back. Wow, this is the first time I've actually been nice to her. He nods and we go back to the theatre to watch more plays.

"So how'd it go?" Tori whispers.

"We're good." I mouthed back.

We watched the rest of the plays until it was time for lunch.

**OUTSIDE**

Tori's POV

So me and Shawn were just by ourselves at a table. The rest wanted to give us time alone, how sweet.

"Hey sista!" I heard Trina come in and sit down next to me.

"Hey, Trina. How's it going?" I asked her.

"When are you and Shawn getting married?" She asks, me and Shawn looked at each other weirdly.

"Oh....um, hehe. Not for a while, Trina." Shawn replied, feeling uncomfortable.

"Get rid of her...." I mouthed at him. He nodded.

"Trina, come with me, please?" He asks, in a flirty tone.

"Oooh! Where are we going?" Trina replies excitedly.

Shawn's POV

Honestly Tori's sister is so annoying. I wonder how she even puts up with her! I took her to a corner and flirted.

"Trina, sweetheart." I started, placing my hand on her shoulder. She shivered.

"Please leave me alone with Tori? Pretty please with sugar on top?" I asked and made the puppy face. I rested my head on her shoulder.

"Pleeaaasseee?" I whined.

"Okay! I'll leave you two alone!" Trina said, her heart melting. I laughed.

"Thanks, love." I said as I saw her run off.

"SHAWN MENDES TOUCHED MY SHOULDER!! HIS HEAD WAS ON IT!!" She screamed as she was running, I cracked up as I returned to Tori.

"So, when are we getting married?" Tori asked, curiously.

"Aww, it'll happen!" I said back.

Tori's POV

I admired Shawn, he's such a cutie. I stared at his eyes and he did the same to mine. We leaned in and kissed each other passionately.

"Rex! Rex! It's okay!" I heard Robbie come to us and Rex...crying?

"What's the matter?" I asked, curious.

"Rex is sad that you kissed Shawn..." Robbie began, we all groaned.

"Rex, you're just a puppet!" Shawn began.

"How many times do I have to tell you do not call him a puppet!" Robbie became furious. Shawn decided to end this little drama and kissed Rex' cheek. He cringed after that.

"There, you happy now?" I said frustrated.

"Take me to the bathroom...." Rex said, Robbie did what he's told.

"Well that was weird."

"I know. Anyways babe, I won't be in school all week next week." He tells me. My eyebrows raised.

"Why, do you have a meeting or something?"

"Well....yeah, kinda. It's in Seattle so I have to fly all the way there. I leave tonight."

"Oh, well have fun. I trust that you won't flirt with another girl." I said to him and kissed his cheek. He shifted a little uncomfortably.

"Is something wrong?" I ask, he shakes his head.

"Oh, yeah nothing. I just um..." He looks down, but it's so cute how he's shy.

"Well, have fun. I'll think about you every night!" I say, he smiles at me.

**MEANWHILE IN SEATTLE**

Carly's POV

I had nothing better to do on this hot afternoon, so I went on the internet and went on this online dating website. I've never tried this before, but Sam has been getting all the guys with it.

I searched up for different guys' names but they all looked ugly.

"Why don't you look up Shawn Mendes?" Freddie says sarcastically and laughs.

"Okay, maybe I will." I sassed back and looked up Shawn.

My heartbeat increased as I heard that he was in the United States! I messaged him and waited for his response.

"I would've made a better boyfriend..." Freddie grumbled.

I screamed as a message popped up.

Hey! Carly Shay from iCarly! I love your webshow. Anyways, how about we meet at your place next week?

I held in my squeal as I replied back immediately.

Yes! Yes! Next week!

I replied and dropped onto the couch fangirling.

"Shawn's gonna be my boyfriend! Shawn's gonna be my boyfriend!" I chanted excitedly.

"He's gonna break your heart! He's gonna break your heart!" Freddie mocked me. I glared at him and he seemed satisfied at what he did.
