"I only like swords." says Dean. "And I only like my brain." I say. "It's a treasure. So use it." Dean starts whistling. "I only like music...and swords." he says. "My brother enjoys music. He taught me a song. Wanna hear it?" I look at him. "It's WANT TO hear it, not wanna hear it. And I'll pass for now." I say. It's strange how I'm actually getting along with Dean. It's the first time we actually had a conversation. "Oh Finch, always correcting me." he says. "Your grammar is different. Haven't you paid attention in school?" I ask. He frowns. "Not really it's boring." he says. "I do enjoy school, but I prefer to be alone. If I were alone I would love it better. I dislike being in a classroom full of berserk students who scream in my ears... I feel awkward around them." I say. "You make me feel awkward." Says Dean. "Shut up." I say. "Training time... Let's go." Says Quinn.

Ehh... Training. Training couldn't be that bad...could it? We walk to a large skyscraper in the center of the Capitol. Inside, there are tributes training and lots of equipment. Me and Dean watch the other tributes for a little bit. Glimmer, shoots an arrow. She doesn't hit the target... But it's her chance now to train and get her aiming straight. Marvel is pretty good with spears. Clove is scary because she NEVER misses. And Cato is very handy with his swords. "Finch, let's go on that thing!" Says Dean. It's platforms, some are tall and some are short, and trainers are swinging foam bats at the tributes while they run on them. My stomach turns, but I find myself drifting to it. I wait in line and I soon learn this platform is called "The Gauntlet." It's Dean's turn and he jumps up. He starts and he was pretty good for the most part. He only got hit with the bat about 6 times. But now... It's my turn. I jump up on the platform. As the trainers swing bats, I slide under them and do parkour over the platforms. I get to the end and I only got hit with the bat once. I'm fast. I got this.

By the end of the day, I don't feel so bad about training. Training isn't that bad, and I actually kind of had fun. I proved my skills. And I actually learned a new skill: dive rolling under things that could be difficult to get past. Some of the tributes didn't do anything. Training is for learning how to survive the games, so I suggest you take advantage of training.

It's already dark, and we decide to just hang around in our "house room."
"So Finch, did you enjoy training?" Asks Quinn. "Yes. I learned a new thing or two. Something that could help me out." I say. "Well good!" Says Quinn. "Well you guys better get to bed, a new day is tomorrow." Says Quinn. Me and Dean head to our rooms. "Goodnight, FoxFace." He says. I smile. "Goodnight."
