All of the tributes rise up at once. We are in the forest arena, which shouldn't be so bad. "Welcome tributes, to the 74th annual Hunger Games. May the odds be ever in your favor." says a voice on the loudspeaker. I look beside me. I am beside Katniss and Dean. The clock starts counting down from 60. Most of the people look scared. I can tell Dean is trying to keep his cool. 40...39...38...37. Don't go to the cornucopia. Just grab a bag and go. That's the least I can do, right? I'm smart enough to know not to go in there. 24...23...22...21...20...19. Am I just talking non sense now? I am wandering what my family is doing?8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1..0. Everyone jumps off and starts running in. I cut in front of Katniss and grab a bag. I head straight for the forest. I pause a second. Dean? Oh no...he ran into it. Great, just what I needed. I keep running. Kids are screaming and cannons are going off right and left. I jump over bushes and logs. I round a corner of a bush and run into another tribute. We both hit the ground. I grab my bag and sit up fast. It's Katniss. We stare at each other, and I get back up and keep running. Thank heavens she didn't have a weapon. I'm not sure where I am running, but I am headed somewhere. I will have to watch where the other tributes go, and run away for them...or I could spy on them...nah. Only when I am fatigued and feel like it.
I think I am far away from most of the tributes. Poor Dean, I wonder if he survived. I don't know. I sit down near a bush. I open the bag up. A knife, a rope and an empty canteen. Good enough for me. I feel like resting, but I'm not sure if I should. Maybe I should stay alert for a little while longer. Although I did run...a lot...
I drifted off, but it's still daylight. Only a little nap, that's okay. I don't know which tributes survived, but I'm presuming that the Careers are still alive. I figure I should get up and go look for some water. Joseph did say I needed water and I do have a canteen. I get up and start searching for some. There has to be some water here, speaking that it's a forest and most forests have a water source.
It feels like I have been walking for hours, but that's probably because the Gamemakers lowered the darkness of the arena. The sound of another cannon startles me. Soon after, the Capitol's anthem starts playing, and it has the words: The fallen; across the sky. It shows a montage of tributes and their districts. But, one breaks my Heart. District 5. Dean. Awe, he wanted to go home to be with Ali, but he can't now. Maybe Ali got his letter, I hope she did. And I hope my family got my letter, too.
By my count, 11 tributes dead, and only 13 tributes left. And the Capitol, thinks it amazing.
That's all they want, is a good show.
