The train goes fast, but smooth. Straight from district 6. I can tell because this train is on District 6's logo. I just sit there, watching the other reapings. It's fascinating how some of the tributes react, crying, screaming, smiling. I'm just over here confused of what just happened. "Hey, can I join?" asks Dean. I guess he means by watching the other reapings with me. "Yeah, go ahead." I say. He sits beside me. I don't know what to say. I will just have to deal with him until the games. As we watch, the tribute's names stick in my head. Glimmer, Marvel, Clove, Cato, Amber, Noah, Azora, Se-"Hey! How is your hair so...orange?" asks Dean. Well that was out of the blue. "Well... my mother was blonde hair and my father was brunette, or he had brown hair... So that's why I have orange hair." I say. He nods slowly. It's weird because my sister is blonde, my brother is brunette and I have orange hair.

I think about the games. 12 districts, 24 tributes and only one comes out. There used to be 13 districts, but district 13 got blown off the map. The Capitol's consequences aren't very pleasant. President Snow is very strict. I heard rumors that the past victors said President Snow smells like blood. I wonder why... 😒

I start writing my letter to my family. I feel bad for not saying goodbye. I'm not sure how Fawn feels. She's important to me and no matter what I want her to feel safe. I write:
I'm sorry I had to go. But I had no choice. I will try my best to win, but life is hard and I can't predict the future. I love you guys with all my heart. I'm smart and I think I can get through things. I'm not sure what I will do if everyone else is stronger than me, I will figure something out. I love you guys!
Love,
Finch
I think that will be good enough. I'm not sure what else to say, other than I love them. "Heh, congratulations." Says a voice. It's not Dean's, it's someone else's. I turn around and see 2 people standing. One is a Male and the other is a Female. They must be our mentors... Or past victors. They are here to give us tips on how to survive the games. There is a woman with Black hair, and a man with a short beard. "I'm Joseph and this is Quinn." says the Man. Quinn looks about middle aged. I'm not one to be open, but I say "Hello." Quinn smiles at me. I can tell I'm going to get along with her just fine. I'm starting to wonder how these victors won. Quinn walks over to me. "What are you writing, Finch?" She asks. "I didn't have time to say goodbye to my family, so I decided to write them a letter. Will somebody be able to deliver it?" I ask. "Yeah, we will make sure it gets to your family. Just be sure to write your address if you remember it." She's says. I have a good memory. I write the address in the corner of the paper. Dean is satisfied by talking to Joseph. Joseph smells weird... Like he's been drinking, although victors basically get whatever they want. I can't stand the smell on him. How can Dean stand to be near him. Quinn rolls her eyes, like she knows what I'm thinking. I feel bad for her as well, having to be near him. "Might as well get some sleep girly. It's a few hours until we arrive at the Capitol." Says Joseph. I have to admit, I am kind of tired. Quinn hands me a blanket and I lay down on the Luxury couch.

Before I know it, I am shook awake. I open my eyes and a crowd of Capitol people are standing outside, cheering for the train. Wow. They sure are a collection of people. Flashy colors, crazy makeup and weird clothing. We get off the train and head over to a skyscraper where we will be staying.

I enjoy the Capitol. It's very pretty.
