Wensday 11:40am:
"Sorry, loser." One of the jocks says after slamming my books out of my hands on to the floor. I'm a little shocked he has enough brain cells to come up with such an original name. Or maybe the nerds that do his homework who also let him copy off them, gave him a list of name's, but of course they had to read the words to him.
"Hey Jack Ass," I hear down the hall and I roll my eyes. "You leave my little sister out it." Now Cole is in front of me, in the jocks face.
"What the hell are you doing?!" I yell at Cole.
"Yeah, listen to your sister." I give him a dirty ass look and they walk away.
Cole trys to go after him, but I hold him back. Cole has really bad angry problems. If our mother wasn't the sheriff, he'd probably be in jail right now. Since I've been in the same school it's helped a lot. It used to scare me how much he'd fight with people. He scared me, him and mom would fight and yell, I would hide in my room with headphones in and cry. With my dad dead, Cole feels as if he has to take on the "father" shoes. Mom never liked that, she is just to proud for help, I never got that.
"I'm sorry." Cole looks down to me then picks up the rest of my stuff. "I can't believe that asshole would bring you into our fude. Don't tell mom, she'd kill me. Here I'll walk you to class." He puts my books in one arm and moves his long brown hair like mine out of his eyes.
"You'll be late though." He just gives me a look.
"I have lunch right now. I was on my way there when I saw him do that." He elbows me, "I got your back whenever you need me." As much as I miss my daddy-daughter time, I guess Cole is an ok back up.
Jenifer Meyer looks up from her book when she sees my brother and makes a face. He shakes his head and she makes a face and continues to read. "What was that about?" I grab his arm so he can't leave.
He just smiles, "nothing." I let go. He hands me my books and leaves me with so many questions.
