Eve's POV:
"What do you mean?" I try and hide it.
"I mean I saw you there with that boy at the beach." She crosses her arms, my eyes widen. I tug her in my room and shut the door behind her, but not before checking the halls to make sure nobody heard.
"Okay, what do you want." I ask with my arms crossed.
"What're you talking about?"
"Oh please," I roll my eyes. "Don't think that I'm gonna believe that you're just gonna keep this a secret out of the kindness of your heart." I snarl.
"Oh yea, I guess you're right." She laughs. God she can be a real pain in the ass sometimes.
"So? What do you want?"
She looks around the room. "That." She points my spiked, black, five inch heals. They were a gift from Grace around Christmas time.
"Oh hell no,"
"Those, or no deal." She stands her ground.
I look back at the shoes, and then back at her.
"Where would you even wear them, anyways?"
"I don't know, out."
"No way dad will let you go 'out' in those."
"And no way dad will let you date a 20 year old guy!" She says loudly.
"Sh! Okay fine! Just… Take the shoes and leave, please." She smiles, obviously proud in whatever she achieved.
"Thanks sis." She skips out of the room. I huff and plop myself on the bed.
Fucking pain in the ass.

"So she did see you." Ashton and I lay in a field of grass, my head resting on his arm as he plays with my hair. The grass smells good, but Ashton smells better. Ashton said this is where he used to come when he was little, when he used to get upset or mad, he'd just come here to blow off steam. I'm glad it's Saturday and we both have nothing to do.
"Yea, she did. She just waltz into my room and blurted it all out."
"I'm sorry," He runs his hand through my hair and I close my eyes.
I feel the sadness in the air so I decide to lighten the mood.
"You know I gave up my favorite pair of heels because of you," I smile.
"Because of me?" He asks.
"Yes, she said if I didn't give them to her, she'd tell on me."
Its quiet for a moment.
"Well, technically you didn't really do it for me…" He says. Wait, what?
"Well, technically… I did." I say.
"No offense Eve, but, you did it cause you didn't want to get in trouble. Not because of me." Is he fucking serious?
"Ashton," I sit myself up and look at him. "Since the day I met you everything I do is for you." I say frowning at him.
"I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying that in that particular situation you didn't-"
"No. In that particular situation I fucking saved my own ass, and yours. Or I could've just told my dad I'm dating a guy 6 years older than me and he'd probably band me from seeing you ever again, then he'd hunt you down with his shot gun, and probably kill you. Leaving him in jail for the rest of his life while I struggle to keep a job and a house under control until social services comes and takes Michelle away. Would that be better? Is that doing anything for you?" I ask.
He stands stupidly with his mouth open.
"Ashton, why the hell would I lie to my dad if It wasn't for you. I don't want him finding out because…" I pause. "Well because him finding out will be the end for us. Okay?"
He's still speechless.
"You don't have anything to say? Really? Not an 'I'm sorry' or 'I didn't mean it'?"
"Eve I-"
"Save it." I stand up. I know I shouldn't but I start to walk away, arms crossed, head down, hair tucked behind my ears. How could he have thought that I would've done any of that for myself? Does he not see how much I do for him? How much I care about him? I'd walk the ends of the earth for this guy, this douchy ass of a guy.
He's not an ass, you're over reacting.
In the very, very, very back of my bind those words keep replaying.
He's not an ass, you're over reacting.
I am. I should stop. I should turn around, but it's no use. He's already following me, I hear him. I ignore him.
"Eve! Eve stop!" He's now a foot behind me, I whip my head around and face him, trying to give him the ugliest look possible.
"What?"
"I'm sorry, okay? I guess… I just, I didn't know how hard it was for you." He takes a step closer and grabs my hand in his.
"It's just gonna take some getting used to, that's all…" He wraps his other arm around my waist.
"I don't want this to end… I really like you Eve, probably more than you'll ever know. And I know you like me to." He rubs his thumb over the blush on my cheek.
"Please, I'm sorry. Okay? Thank you for," The corner of his mouth lifts to a small smile. "Thank you for giving up your heals for me." I bite my bottom lip to help from giggling.
"Am I forgiven?" He asks, I roll my eyes.
"I suppose, so."
"Good," He rests his forehead against mine. I smile.
"Your hair looks cute in a beanie." I blurt out, he smiles and kisses me softly.
"Dido."
***
"Y'ALL FUCKED DIDN'T YOU?!" Grace screams into the phone.
"Would you shut the hell up for five seconds?! No, we didn't…" I look around my room. "fuck." I murmur.
"Aw, boo…"
"Yeah, yeah. So how was your date with that guy?"
"Uhm, AMAZING! I love his hair, he's so sweet and quiet. It's honestly kind of weird, I'm so loud and he's just so… not. Be's also so tall. Like really tall. He's taller than both of us, his accent is like heaven and his hands are so soft…" She rambles on and I loose focus.
I grab Ashton's shirt off the bed and cling onto it, holding the phone between my shoulder and cheek. It still smells of him, of his car, of the beach, of our kiss. Hmm…
"Anyways, his name is Luke and-"
"What?" I ask Grace.
"Luke. His name is Luke."
"As in Ashton's band mate Luke?"
"What?! Our guys are in a band together?! HOLY SHIT EVE!"
I hate the thought of Luke and Grace going out, I mean, I don't have anything against them it's just… Ashton was my escape, escape from Grace, escape from Michelle, escape from life. And now, now I have to share my secret, little life with Grace. I don't want to.
I don't want to share Ashton with her.
I don't want to share Ashton with anyone.
Ever.
