Weapons and Training

Yang POV

I stood with Blake as I watched Merrick and Lira spar in the back garden "that explains why you've been with them a lot" I smiled and side hugged my wife "yeah, I figured it was time but bear in mind they've been fighters since they were young" Blake nodded "got a point honey" Lira pinned Merrick down and stood up to then help up her brother. I walked over "excellent...great job the both of you but now it's weapons time!" They brightened up "finally!" They ran inside "they've been planning for a few weeks...now is the time to execute it" we entered the house and I went to the garage. The kids and Blake walked in as I started up the car "Weiss and Ruby said we could use their workshop to create the weapons" we pulled out and sped to Weiss and Ruby's home in Vale. The main mansion is in Atlas but they spend whole summers there. We pulled into the driveway and walked up to the house, I chapped on the door then walked in "Weiss! Ruby!" They came out along with Ra and Kimba "here to use the workshop?" I nodded "come on then" Blake walked over to Ruby to play with Kimba and Ra while I led Lira and Merrick to the workshop "I have to lock it...Ruby wants to help them craft their weapons but they aren't ready just yet" she opened the door and we entered.

Blake POV

I sat on the floor along with Ruby playing one of the kids video games. Weiss came back "I swear...that Brawler will be the death of me or us you know whatever" I chuckled "she's been excited for a few weeks now to do this" "why aren't you taking part?" I shrugged "I don't know how Ruby...I guess Yang's more of the type for this...I'm more interested in getting them to read...Lira is reading three books a week Merrick...I can't even get him to finish one book a week, he's so much like Yang" I laughed "they get along so well with Yang...can't tear those three apart" Ruby paused the game "and that doesn't bother you?" I shrugged "not really...I'm glad their bonding and I've bonded with them as well" we heard a explosion and I immediately took off running. I opened the room and found Lira, Merrick and Yang all covered in black. They were laughing though, I sighed and walked inside "I think I should probably stay around...your mother always goes overboard with Dust" Yang smiled and wiped her face and the kids before setting back to work. I stood behind Merrick and held down the weapon while he made some tweaks to it "how come these are nearly finished...I thought you said they were planning it?" Yang nodded "yeah...they were but now they can design the ammunition shells...the past few weeks have been designing and perfecting the actual weapon" I nodded but frowned "you done this without me?" She rubbed the back of her neck "it was gonna be a surprise" I sighed "ok" her smiled dropped "kids why don't you go get cleaned up" they looked at eachother before leaving "are you upset because you weren't a part of designing the kids weapons?" I nodded and looked away from my wife "Blake...i didn't think you'd be interested" I glared at her "I'm always interested in my kids life" that stabbed her in the heart...I didn't mean for it to be so harsh "Yang" I reached out to her but she pulled away "I need some air" she stormed out and went outside. I sighed and wiped the tears that pooled in my eyes, I cleaned the worktops then looked over the weapons. Merrick had a katana with a rapid fire pistol on the hilt, beside the blade was a sheath that doubled at a blade. I smiled 'just like mine' I looked at Lira and saw two shoulder mounted guns that were attached to two blades that had had a trigger system that is held in both palms. I frowned 'hmm...fires bullets and it appears she can launch the blades if they are inserted into the barrels...just like Yang' the colour schemes were both simmilar:Merrick was a light blue and had dark blue lines in the grooves while Lira went for a light blue\green design. There was two bits of paper in front of the weapons and in a second I realised they were symbols:Merrick had a gold crown with two dark waves beside it and Lira had two black blades inside a light blue teardrop. I smiled and walked out of the room, I saw Yang training the kids "Yang..." she turned around "Blake?" I rubbed my wrists "I cleaned the room...why don't you finish their weapons?" She nodded and they all walked inside. I sighed and took a walk, Weiss and Ruby's house was on the outskirts of a field so there was plenty of room for playing, running, training and walking without disturbing the other homes. I glanced up and saw grey clouds begin to gather, I ignored them and kept walking. Soon it began to rain, I wrapped my arms around my self and continued walking I didn't mean it...I didn't mean it. I fell to the ground crying and soaked I'm sorry Yang, I hadn't cried in so long but I guess this was needed. I was completely drenched and freezing from the rain but I couldn't face Yang not now, she should focus on the kids. I kneeled there not caring for how cold I was "Blake!?" I turned around and saw Yang running towards me, she kneeled beside me "Yang?" She hugged me "Dust kitten your freezing come on!" She picked me up and ran back to the house. She carried me upstairs and drew me a hot bath, she peeled off the wet clothes and gently set me inside. She left and came back with fresh PJ's "we're spending the night here" I didn't say anything. I saw Yang's hand on the side of the tub, I went to grab it but pulled away "did the kids finish their weapons?" My voice was so small and weak, I was like 17 year old Blake again "yes they finished but when Ruby told me you hadn't been in I was worried..." she began to gently wash me "...Blake?" I looked at her and reached my arms out to her, she gladly hugged me "I'm sorry for saying that Yang...I didn't mean it" "I know kitten...it's alright" she washed my hair and picked me out again. I dried and dressed myself then brushed my hair. I walked through to mine and Yang's bedroom and sat on the bed, Yang came through and changed in PJ's aswell. She was by the dressed brushing her hair, I flattened my ears against my head "what's wrong?" I looked up at her "I know I sound childish...but can you scratch my ears for a bit, you know just till I fall asleep?" She smiled warmly at me through the mirror "of course kitten" I laid down on the bed and faced away from her, I felt the right side of the bed dip and warmth cover me. She reached her hand up and began to gently scratch at the base of my ears, I smiled and began to softly purr until sleep captured me.

I woke up and found myself alone. I got out of bed and padded down the stairs, I saw Yang, Ruby, Weiss, Merrick. Lira, Ra and Kimba sitting in the living room watching a film, I glanced at the clock 6:45 the kids were PJ'd and were sitting up beside their mothers with a cup of hot chocolate. I smiled at the sight and walked back upstairs not wanting to disturb them. I climbed into bed but the door opened "hey...you didn't pass me" I looked away as Yang sat down next to me "you could've joined us" I shook my head "I didn't want to interrupt" Yang titled my head to look at her "I'm sorry too...I shouldn't of snapped like that" I hugged her "you've got nothing to be sorry for" I pulled away sharply "hey...you can still hug me and kiss me...I didn't divorce you" my ears twitched and flattened "I can't lose you Yang" I began to cry into her shoulder "I'm sorry...I'm being pathetic" she kissed my neck "not in the slightest...I should spend more time with you, I noticed that you've been wanting my attention but I've been so focused on the kids that I've been completely neglecting you" I kissed her neck "I'm glad you have a great relationship with the kids...I couldn't ask for a better mother" we kissed "don't do something like that again...please?" I nodded "of course" I sneezed "oh well...guess I have to play nurse for a while" she winked ans I hit her "shut up" she laughed. She left and made me some hot chocolate and got me a book from Weiss's library "thanks Yang" she kissed the top of my head "I'll be up shortly kitten" I nodded and opened the book. I smiled, I have the best wife ever.
