16: Embarrassed

"I HATE YOU!" I screamed as tears streamed down my face. "Please Lauren you have to believe me!" Daniel exclaimed grabbing my arms twirling me into him but I pushed him away. "No! I should have know you were embarrassed of me! You acted like you didn't even know me. I should have never trusted a "popular guy" they are all the same. You know what, here is a new title for you. How do you like "Faker" or "heart breaker?" It's perfect for you." I said running out leaving Daniel in the empty halls.

Let me explain some stuff. I was the girl in the sidelines that was lucky to get a chance with the most hottest, popular, talented, and athletic guy on campus. I thought things would be perfect like in the fan fictions. I was so naive. When he said we should keep it a secret so his parents won't get mad for not focusing on his studies I shouldn't have believed him. I could have gotten hints that he was embarrassed of me by not even wanting to be with me around his dumb friends. He never wanted to hold my hand or even kiss my cheek in public.

I ran home not wanting to get a ride from Daniel like always. Of course we would wait until after school so no one would see me get in the car with him.

I fumbled with my keys opening the door. I ran in slamming the door going straight to my room. My parents were working late so it was just my little sister Taylor and the maid that were here. I passed here going up the stairs but didn't bother saying anything as I went to my room.

I layed on my bed stopping my tears not wanting to waste anymore on someone that isn't worth it. I just laid on my side looking out the window in deep thought. I heard the door slowly creak open which snapped me out of my thoughts. I turned to see Taylor peeking her head in. "Are you okay Lauren?" She asked. "Peachy." I replied turning back around.

I heard the door close but I can still sense her here. She sat on bed patting my back. "What's wrong?" She layed down next to me. I turned to face her. "Daniel." I whispered. "What did he do?" She whispered back. "He's embarrassed of me." I said looking at her face full of sympathy. "What came first the chicken or the dickhead?" She smiled and I laughed. "Language Taylor." I said lightly pushing her shoulder. It was a lyric in Pretty Visitors by Arctic Monkeys. We loved that song and we would try to keep up with the lyrics but it's impossible. (A/n: Fr it is, I'm trying to learn it 😂)

"Yay I made you laugh!" She cheered. "Thanks Tay." I said smiling. "Mom said she left pizza in the fridge lets go." She said grabbing my arm and dragging me downstairs to the kitchen.

The Next Day

I dreaded today. I would be going to school and seeing Daniel. I put my hair in a messy bun (A/n: Messy buns are so cute but I can't rock them 😂) and some blue ripped jeans with a beige flowy shirt (photo above). I didn't put much effort into my appearance but I still wanted to look cute. I sighed going downstairs grabbing my lunch the my mom had made for me from the counter and walked out grabbing my backpack that was lying on the floor with my keys in there by the door.

Once I was outside I saw a familiar car. Daniel's car. I shook my head. How can he think I would get in that car with him after what happened. I started walking and I heard the car starting then it slowly started to follow me. I looked over and saw Daniel putting his window down. "Just let me give you a lift." He said. "No." I simply said rolling my eyes still walking. "Lauren-"

"Just leave me alone Daniel." I said crossing my arms looking ahead not bothering to turn to him anymore. "Babe-" I cut him off. "DON'T CALL ME THAT!" I yelled and started to run. He was getting on my nerves. I heard the car speed up a bit so it was still by my side but I kept running.

I finally made it inside school panting. Daniel tried calling me from his car on the way but I ignored him. "Lauren hey I didn't hear from you after school. Why are you panting?" My best friend Naomi said coming up to me. "I need to tell you tons of stuff." I said composing myself. She nodded and we walked to homeroom while I explained everything.

"I knew Daniel was a dick deep down." Nicole said shaking her head in disappointment. "I was also blind to that." I said putting my face into my hands.

Everything went by smoothly, and by that I mean I tired to ignore Daniel as much as I could, until lunch came around. Naomi and I got our food sitting at a different table since our usual was near Daniel's and his friend's table. Instead of being gloomy I had to act cheery. Like I wasn't missing Daniel at all, but I knew deep down that I was dying for him. Why? You might ask. I have no idea.

I sat down eating my lunch which was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I ate while listening to Naomi talk about a cute boy that just entered her Biology class.

"Lauren." I turned around to see Daniel standing next to with a smile on his face. "Oh sweet Jesus." I mumbled putting my sandwich down. Before I can say anything else he grabbed my arm and pulled me up dragging me to his table. "What are you doing!? Daniel let me go!" I shouted trying to take my arm out of his grasped. What he did next made me freeze. He climbed up to the lunch table and picked me up with him.

Oh no this can't be good. I like being in the shadows, I like being on the ground. "ATTENTION EVERYONE!" Daniel yelled which made the cafeteria go silent. Oh curse his popularity powers. How can he even make a whole school go silent? "THIS IS LAUREN!"

"Oh my god." I said under my breath and looked down. Daniel faced me and lifted my chin with his fingers. He smiled and turned to look at the people. "I HAVE THIS HUGE CRUSH ON HER AND I MADE A MISTAKE. THIS TIME WILL BE DIFFERENT. SO LAUREN WILL YOU DO ME THE HONORS OF BEING MY GIRLFRIEND?" He was holding both of my hands now looking at me hopefully while I had my mouth open in shock. I looked at Naomi and she was jumping up and down giving me a thumbs up. Then I looked at the crowd who were already staring at us in anticipation. I closed my mouth and looked at him again.

Everyone deserves a second chance... "YES!" I yelled jumping onto him but being careful since we are both still on the table. He laughed happily and wrapped his arms around my waist. We pulled away and he pulled me back in but this time he gave me a passionate kiss. I thought today was gonna be a bad day.

YAY! Idk why but I was so excited to post this lol. Sorry for the long wait I am also working on Dark Skye plus I am busy with school stuff also. GUESS WHAT?!?! I AM MEETING DANIEL TOMORROW FOR HIS MUSIC VIDEO!!! OH MY GOSH I AM SO EXCITED!
