Not as happy as expected

Chapter 28

Jake POV

As soon as Alex got all better, he seemed distant, and he rarely stayed at home for a long period of time. The only time he'd be at home is for dinner, and just to sleep. It bothered him because if he knew Alex right, he'd want a place where someone accepts him, and gives him comfort... but to him, it seems like he is trying to distance himself from him.. He didn't know why...

Suddenly the door opened and Alex came in. He looked up at Jake and quickly looked down. "I'll go take a shower..." He mumbled and went upstairs quickly. He didn't give Jake a chance to speak and was gone instantly. He sighed softly "Alex...." He rubbed his eyes with his hand. "I thought we got over this... I thought we were starting over... This is just getting complicated..." He sighed frustrated, confused on how to react to this.

A couple minutes later Alex came down, and Jake already got the food ready. "Alex, dinner is ready" he told Alex who slowly walked over to the table where his plane was placed. Jake sat down in front of him and looked at him. "Alex.... Please talk to me if something is wrong... That's why I'm here..." He gave Alex a worried look. "I don't know what you are talking about, nothing is wrong" Alex said as he took a bite of his mash potatoes. "You have been ignoring me, the only time you will speak to me is when you use anything in the house and to eat and sleep. As soon as you eat you leave, even if its night. Is this because you remember being a murder so much that you have to roam around or you'll get tempted? Or that you have to move around because you're uncomfortable with staying in one place?" He kept'd asking Alex questions. "Shut up..." Alex mumbled. "Alex I want to know.... Just tell me.... Tell me anything...please... I want to know what is happening..." He pleaded to Alex. "Shut up! Okay?! For fucks sake! Stop nagging on and on!" Alex slammed his fork on the table as he yelled. He flinched slightly as Alex did so. "Then tell me Alex! Why are you avoiding me?!" He yelled back. "Why do you care?!" Alex yelled. "Because we told each other we would start a new! But all that is happening is a man turning his back on the promise! The promise that we would try to start again, a fresh new start! I only see you acting as your old self! Don't you even Want to start a new life with me?!" He yelled at Alex, his feelings hurt. Alex's eyes widened seeing his expression. Alex got up from his chair at the table and walked away from him. "Alex! Don't you even love me?! Do you even want to start this new life?!" He yelled at the fleeing Alex. Alex turned quickly to face Jake "You dumb shit! Of course I do! I am afraid of myself! You don't know how I feel right now! Yelling like this doesn't help anything! You know that better than anyone! I can't just stop loving someone I care for so fucking much... You piece of shit...." Alex yelled and tears went down his cheeks. "You idiot...."Alex cried and ran toward the door and ran out if the door slamming it behind him. "Alex!" He yelled after the fleeing Alex, running out after him.

He chased Alex, who was always very fast. He couldn't help but think of the first time they met and he had to chase Alex like this....but this was different. This time, he was chasing the person he loved, not the other side of him. "Alex! Please wait!" He yelled, but Alex showed no sign of slowing down. "Alex! Stop running away! Let's talk this out please!" He yelled once more. Alex ignored him and turned down another road. "Alex!! Don't abandon me! Please!" Jake pleaded. Alex seemed affected by this and slowed down for a second then went back to the speed he was going at the whole time. That split second Alex slowed down at, was just what he needed to catch him. He reached out and grabbed hold of Alex's arm and and forced him to stop running. "Stop!" Alex yelled as he struggled to get away. He spun him around so he could face him and kissed him instantly. Alex's eyes widened, and moved his head to the side "Stop it Jake!" he yelled. "I wont" He replied and kissed him more, grabbing hold of Alex so he wouldn't get away. "Im so annoyed and scared right now Alex, I don't know what to do, I don't want you to leave me, and I also don't want to be left alone again, I don't want to see you like how you were before and I don't want you homeless...." his voice wavered, he was about to cry "I already have no one besides you... please don't be another to abandon me..." Tears left his eyes and went down his cheeks. Alex fell to his knee's and started to cry "I'm so sorry Jake.... I shouldn't cause you so much pain..." Alex cried out. He hugged Alex tightly "I don't care about that, let's just go home" (If you don't know what I just referenced, you disappoint me, but its Tokyo Ghoul, with Kaneki and Hide) he smiled a painful smile. "Okay..." Alex whispered and hugged him tightly as they stood up and began to walk home.
