Chapter 29

Jake POV:

"H-- Hey guys! over here! I found the car! There are 2 people inside! Help me pull them out!" he felt himself being lifted up, but he was in so much pain that it hurt incredibly bad when they did so. He groaned loudly, now able to hear well to what the people were saying. "This ones alive!" A man yelled, he opened his eyes slightly, there was smoke and there was clearly a fire near him. "Move him somewhere safer until the ambulance comes!" a man ordered and he was lifted up again and placed into a new location. "This ones not breathing!" A far distance man yelled, he heard the man besides him run in the direction the yell came from. "Move out of the way!" a man yelled from a far distance and he couldn't hear much until he heard. "Come on kid, you have to live!" the man yelled and then he heard a gasp and coughing. "Holy shit, you lucky bastard I thought he wasn't going to start breathing again.." The mans voice sounded likely joyful. "lets get this kid over with the other guy" The man said and he heard footsteps coming back towards him. There was a soft thump besides him and he opened his eyes slightly and turned his head slightly to look who was there. His eyes widened when he saw the body of Alex. "A...lex?" he called out and tried to move his arm which didn't move. Alex didn't move, not even slightly. "A...lex!" He tried to yell out to Alex, tears started to go down the side of his face. "Da..mnit Alex..... just....fucking respond...please...." He cried out. This got the attention of the people beside us "Sir please calm down, the ambulance is here now, and we'll be taking you and your acquaintance to a nearby hospital" the man told him. "I...is he alright....?" he looked back at Alex. "He is fine, he'll make it through" The man told him as Alex as the first to be put in an ambulance, and then he was taken in a different ambulance and headed to a hospital.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A couple days later

He was released from the hospital with only a broken arm and nothing else wrong... while Alex was severely injured, and still hasn't..... woken up from the day of the crash. He still remembered the crash clearly, Alex and he were heading on a trip to a hot spring, once they were only an hour away from the hot spring, they were turning on a corner when another car came out of nowhere in front of them, the other car was able to move slightly out of the way but due to the other cars force, they rammed into the metal fence and broke through and went tumbling down the hill until at the very end where He blacked out. After he recovered slightly, he was interrogated by a couple police officers, it was ironic because they knew he used to be a police officer as well. They asked questions on Alex and if he had any family to contact, which he said no, not wanting Alex's father to get involved... which on his part, wasn't the best decision, but his father would freak out, and he planned on telling Alex's father rather than the other cops doing so. After he was done being interrogated he went outside and pulled out his phone, which was somehow still working and in good shape, they were able to get only a few things from the car, and not much of the clothing. He went into his contacts and scrolled down and found Alex's father. He clicked thee call button and brought the phone to his ear. The phone rang 3 times and then his father answered. "Jake what a surprise, I didn't expect you to be calling me, weren't you and Alex on a trip?" Alex's father questioned. "....Sir.... I'm so sorry....." His voice wavered and he started to tear up. "Jake whats wrong?" Alex's father asked worried. "We got in a car accident.... and rolled down a hill.... I am fine..... but your son... hasn't woken up for 2 days... and there isn't any signs that he will be waking up soon...." He cried onto the phone. Alex's father and him talked and talked, and his father headed on the road to get to the hospital, to see his son.
