CHAPTER 12
Rick’s POV
This stunning woman next to me was something. I realized I was right, there was more to Carmen Swan than what meets the eye. She did behave like she had a steel rod up her ass. And there were times when I thought she would smack me on the head or drill holes into my skull with those seething, hot eyes of hers. But now she was sitting next to me smiling radiantly. It looked like the smile plastered on her pretty face could never fade.
Her coffee brown eyes gleamed as she sped through the highway. Her dark hair streamed behind her. She had forgotten to strap her seat belt which was so unlike her and I didn’t know her for that long.
“So Rick, Why are you letting me drive?” Her voice broke the noisy, gushing wind.
“Just wanted to test how well you can drive. I always wanted to employ a female driver.” I winked.
She snorted, “Firstly, this car’s not designed keeping chauffeurs in mind. Secondly, though I’d love to drive this car forever I’m kinda happy with my current job. So no thanks.”
“Aww, too bad. I had so many things planed for a female driver.”
She scrunched up her nose like earlier today and said, “Spare me your plans.” And in a more serious and pleading tone she added, “Seriously Rick, why?”
“I just thought you’ll like it.” I replied honestly.
“You thought right.” She spared me a smile.
“oh I always know what my girlfriends like.” I boasted.
“Do you know that she doesn’t like to be called your girlfriend?” She replied hotly.
“Yes, but I choose to ignore that.” I replied back.
“Well did you know she’s planning on throwing you out of the car and running you over with it?” She teased; I was guessing and hoping she was teasing because she did manage to put on a serious face.
“Glad to know you’re having such happy thoughts.” I replied sarcastically.
“Hey don’t blame me……….It’s not me having those thoughts, it’s your girlfriend.”
“But Car, you’re my girlfriend.” I replied innocently.
“I don’t think so.” She smirked.
I placed my left hand on her bare right knee and gave it a light squeeze. The car swerved to the left for a fraction of a minute before she steadied it. “Yes you are.” I said.
She swatted my hand away from her knee. “Rick! Stop this nonsense.”
I laughed at her reaction. It was so satisfying. Her reactions when she was riled up were classic and I loved to see them, experience them. Currently she was fuming with a death grip on the wheel. Her knuckles were turning white. And her one foot had gone a ton heavy on the accelerator and her other foot that was supposed to be on the brake as light as a withered autumn leaf. It was like that leg didn’t even exist.
