When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade. When life hands you an annoying hot guy, it is Danni's mate.

"Mine!" The apparition solidified and threw Dustin back grabbing Danni. I stayed on the ground electricity running rampid through my viens. A hand touches my biceps and sucks the energy out of me.

"I'm sorry." Dustin tried holding the girl but got shocked. "I am refilled you can no longer touch me. I'm Kandice." She waved nonchalant.

"Ugh, what is with all the long ass names!" Kenji rounded the for the second time. I was no longer focused on any of them when I hear Danni scream.

"HAVEN!!" I turn around and see the new man trying to make Danni an apparition too but hurting her instead. He stops and drops her. Danni crawls towards me. I walk in front of her.

"Who are you?"

"Where am I?" I took a step back. He got angier. "How did I get here? Why is my mate screaming?" He looked angry and confused.

"You don't know?" He shook his head.

"This shit is confusing. I need a break. I am calling you Kandy with a k. Peace!" Kenji swirved on his heel and left us. While the man was looking at us with a scowl.

"I'm Thomas. This place is called Ahorro de Asilo. This is a safe place for people with powers to train and fight people who abuse power. Is it just me or have I said that a lot? Never mind. This is Haven." He gestured towards me. "And your mate Danni." She huddled into a ball on the floor.

Her eyes are red from crying. His face immediately goes sorrowful. "I am Jesse. I am sorry for hurting you. I have never really been able to control my magic."

"We can teach you." I say to him. "You no longer have to learn alone." He looks down.

"I just want to stop somebody later."

"Don't we all."

These people mean the world to me. I don't ever want to let go.
