Chapter Three- The Ghost King

*Lucia's P.O.V*
"Nico duck!" I pushed Nico's head down as I hid behind the large marble statue. He hid closer to me as we heard the voices.
"I can sssmell them." Said Monster A.
"No way. Another Big Three kid? Impossssible. Your nossse mussst be clogged up sssince our encounter with that Jackssson boy." Said Monster B. I tensed and Nico clenched his fists.
"Come out, come out, where ever you are! We promise we won't eat youuuu!" Monster A said. I can hear her and her partner slither towards us.
        I looked back at Nico.
~Nico, I'll distract it while you sneak up on them from behind~ I mind linked.
Nico nod his head while sneaking around bushes that were near us to sneak attack the Dracaenae. I took a deep shaky breath before stepping out from behind the statue and whistling a tune. Immediately both heads snapped at me. My knees began to wobble . "H - Hello, ladies. Beautiful day, isn't it?"
"No, not really." Monster A deadpaned.
"Not until you're dead." Hissed Monster B.
"Okay, but before I die, may I please have one more wish?" I asked with pleading eyes, my hands clasped together.
They looked at each other and shrugged, but they had smug looks. They probably thought that they've won. I'll show their asses to not mess with the di Angelo's.
"I....I just want to say......you can go to hell if you think you can mess with us." I made eye contact with Nico. He jump out the bush and before the Dracaenae could react, they were both decapitated. Nico and I stared at the piles of golden dust, that once was a creature that wanted to eat us. I walked over to Nico and hugged him. He put away his sword before wrapping his arms around me. We did this everytime we fought a monster. You can never know when you might lose someone who is dear to you.

Nico and I heard from one of the campers that the equestrians were back. We hurriedly made our way towards the large baby white house, a.k.a the 'Big House'. We walked in and walked to the door where the meeting room was. The door was closed but we could hear voices behind it. Nico knocked and opened the door.
We couldn't wait to see Bianca. We both had had these wierd dreams the past nights that we couldn't control. Dreams where the five quest members were battling monsters and exploring places. The one that worried me the most was the one where all five of them were in a junkyard. Suddenly they were attack by a giant robot and Bianca had sacrificed herself for everyone. That dream felt so real, I woke up in fits and began to cry. And I rarely cry. Luckily I had my twin there to confort me.
Although I was still pissed at Bianca, she will always be my sister, and I can't help but worry over her. Especially after that dream that left me paranoid. Though....Bianca should be alright. After all, Percy did promise to keep her safe. And he doesn't seem like the guy who would fail at anything. But, I can never be too sure even if I idolize him a little. Looks can be deceiving.
Nico on the other hand, had forgiven Bianca and was thrilled to finally see her back. He had totally pushed my strange and terrifying dream to the side, unlike me. He also had no doubts Percy would let any harm at our older sister.
When we entered the room, the talking halted. My brother looked around anxiously with a smile. I on the other hand, stayed expressionless.
"Hey! Where's.....where's my sister?" He said his smile slowly melting off. I glance at each face in the room but none were Bianca's. The room was deadly silent - it made my anxiety from the other night come back. I searched for Percy's sea green eyes and jet black hair. He was looking at the camp director, who was looking grim. Percy looked away and faced us.
"Hey, Nico, Lucy," He got up from his chair. "Let's go for a walk, okay? We need to talk."
The walk was suspenseful. Even though there was a protection spell around Camp that prevented weather to seep in, a small drizzle of snow was comming down and the wind was howling. No one spoke until we were a few yards from the pavilion. That's when he told us. He told us how Bianca sacrificed herself for all of them to continue the quest. She was the one whom the prophecy was talking about, 'one shall be lost in the land without rain'. Percy said her death wasn't in vain, since they were able to fulfill the prophecy and prevent the downfall of Olympus.
I couldn't believe it. But then, I could. I could feel her soul in thr underworld, about to get judgement from the people who choose where she's going to go. She's dead, and she's not coming back. She's dead and we'll never get to see or hug her again. She's.... gone forever.
I didn't cry, I wasn't going to cry in front of this boy who let my sister die. I just stared at Percy. I glanced at Nico and saw that he was glaring at the ground, staying silent.
Percy dug in his coat pocket and pulled two small items out. "She wanted you to have this." Percy said handing both Nico and I the objects. I looked at palm and glared at the necklace. It had a silver chain with a black crystal rose charm. The necklace was the one I couldn't stop fawning over when I saw it at a jewelry store but couldn't get it since it was too expensive. I would always wish on my birthday that I'd get that necklace as a present.
In Nico's hand was the only figurine he didn't have: Hades. He would always and desperately try to find that figurine at stores but never did. He was the first to break the silence.
"You promised you would protect her."
Percy had a pained expression. I clenched the necklace in my hand. "Nico," he said. "I tried. But Bianca gave herself up to save the rest of us. I told her not to. But she -"
"I shouldn't have trusted you." Nico voice broke. I grabbed his hand for reassurance and he squeezed it tightly. We were both trembling - except I was trembling from swallowing sobs and Nico from rage. "You lied to us. Lucy and I's nightmares were right!" He threw the Hades figurine on the snowy marble and glared at Percy. "I hate you!"
"She might be alive," the Son of Poseidon desperately said. "I don't know for sure -"
"She's dead." Nico comfirmed closing his eyes. "I should've known it earlier. She's in the Fields of Asphodel, standing before the judges right now, being evaluated. I can feel it."
"What do you mean, you can feel it." Percy asked, looking puzzled.
Nico was about to reply with an angry answer when a hissing rattling noise came from behind Percy. He whirled around whiling drawing his sword and there stood four warrior skeletons. I heard Nico gasp to my left. I didn't make a sound, but stepped back pulling Nico slightly behind me. The skeletons had grey skin, yellow eyes, and army clothes - camouflage pants, grey muscle shirts, and hiking boots. Although they had flesh, you could see bones shimmering underneath like an x-ray. The skeletons grinned and came closer with swords drawn.
"Y - You're trying to kill us!" Nico screamed as he pushed me behind him. I moved and stood next to him. I absolutely hate being the defenseless girl. "You brought these.....these things?"
Percy kept his eyes on the skeletons. "No! I mean, yes, they followed me, but no! Nico, take your sister and run. They can't be destroyed."
"I don't trust you!" Nico yelled. I remained frozen. What should I do? Should I help, or should I make Nico run away with me? I looked to the side and noticed a butter knife under on the marble ground. I let go of my twin and grabbed the knife. It might not be much, but if was better than nothing. I pushed Nico behind me again.
A skeleton noticed me and began towards us. Percy was too busy fighting the other three. I raised the knife, my hand shaking violently. Nico kept trying to go forwards, but I kept pushing him back. It kept advancing - it was only three feet away from me. "S - stop." I said staring at the skeleton with my best intimidating stare. I took a few more steps before halting. It stared at me with its yellow eyes. I trembled with fear. Then the unexpected happened. The skeleton put away its sword and then bowed. I stared at it shocked, but then I realized this was my only chance. I ran and stabbed its skull before it could have got up from its bow. The skeleton remained frozen then crumbled into a pile of bones which then turned into grey dust.
        Another two came towards me.
       "No!" Nico shouted. "Go away!"
I stumbled back and fell on my butt as the ground beneath me began to rumble. Nico pulled me out of the way as a large crack spread throughout the pavilion, then opened, swallowing the three remaining skeletons. Flames erupted from the fissure before closing back again, leaving a twenty foot long crack across the marble floor.
Percy looked at us in awestruck. "How did you -"
"Go away!" Nico yelled as he pushed me behing him again. "I hate you! I wish you were dead!" Nico then began to run, taking me with me. I let go of his hand so we could run faster. I wanted to leave this place as much as he wanted to. We ran down the steps then through the forest.
We weaved through trees until, we both ran out of breath. "I hate this place!" Nico said. "I just want to leave!" He leaned against a tree and suddenly fell through it. Or it seemed like it. It looked more as if he had melted into the shadows. I stared at the tree which was casting the shadow in front of it.
        ~L-Lucy, I - I think I'm in D.C~ Nico mind linked.
I was about to do the same when I heard Percy's voice.
"Lucy wait!" Percy called, a few yards away. I started to back away slowly. "Please. You don't have to leave, you can stay and be safe. It's -"
"Stop." I interrupted. This is the first I had talked to him since he told us about. Bianca's death. I glared at him with my fiercest. "I looked up to you, I thought I could trust you" I looked down. "But I guess not." And with that, I melted into the shadows just like my twin, tears threatening to come out.
How it felt? Well it was like being on a rollercoaster. Except all I could see was darkness and I could hear the moans and screams of lost souls.
I moment later I appeared in what I guess would be Washington. To the side, I spotted my brother in an ally. He was leaning on the wall for support, his eyes red and puffy.
I immediately felt tired and I felt my eyes droop a bit as I walked over to him. "Lucy, this place is abandoned. We should..." His eyes began to droop too. I quickly wrapped an arm around his waist and helped him walk. I opened the door-which was unlocked-and we entered an empty studio. I spotted a dirty mattress pushed to a corner. I helped Nico towards it but my legs were starting to give up on me. This time Nico helped me and we collapsed on the mattress.
We both became a sobbing mess as soon as we fell. We were on our knees hugging each other tightly. I didn't want to let go, and I knew he didn't either. After all, we only had each other now. Only him and I, and no one else.
"I want her back!" Nico said as he kept crying on my shoulder.
"I - I w - want her b - back, t - too." I said. It felt good to finally let all the sobs and tears I've bern holding back. Even though I knew crying wasn't going to help at all, I still cried to my heart's content. I hugged Nico tighter, and he returned the gesture.
Then I remembered a vogue memory. When Nico and I used to get nightmares, Bianca used to sing us a lulluby to calm us and lull us back to sleep. I began to quiet my sobs and control my breathing.
I took a deep breath, tears still cascading down my cheeks, and I began slowly to sing.
"Tu sei il mio soldatino(you're my little soldier)
