Chapter 5: The Deep Woods

I'm guessing you guys are probably wondering why I hate Matthew so much besides the fact that he is a possessive bastard who is not only abusive but bipolar as well? If you must know.....

*Flashback*

" Hey give me a candy" I handed a jolly rancher to Matthew and gave the bag back to Bella. Today was group day. On group days we sit under my tree in a circle,eat snacks and candy, talk,have fun, and just relax and catch up.

"Oh God look at the time I have to go"

" Why you just got here?"

Even though Matthew is a little crazy I still love him or atleast I think i do. We are dating ( married).

"Oh well I just have stuff to do I'll be back in like an hour ok?"

"Fine" I gladly accepted his peck on the lips and sighed as he walked away.

"Sooo"

"Let's follow him" said an overly excited Melanie

"Ya he might have a surprise" Bella said while dragging me along.

Matthew wasn't that far ahead as he began walking towards our sacred woods. These woods were more special than my tree. They mean so much to us. As we followed him Adam complained the whole time.

" Can we leave"

"What if it's a trap"

Suddenly we heard giggles.... Girly giggles.

We all looked from our spot behind a bush to see Matthew kissing Peyton Landon.

I began to cry and ran from the bush as far as my legs would take me.

"Wait Rory"

"Rory wait"

My friends yelled as I ran faster. Then out of nowhere Matthew tackled me onto the grass.

"Rory its not what you think" he said looking at me with sad eyes.

" Not what it looks like?" I got up wiping myself off " Save it you were terrible before but this is it i'm done with you"

" You can't be done with me we are married"

" Well i want a divorce"

" Rory please just wait" he began to plead at my feet I almost felt bad.. Almost.

" I don't want to be with you anymore go back to your girlfriend obviously she wants you" I began to walk back to my house. I heard crying and turned slightly. I saw Matthew crying with his head in his hands. I almost cried myself but i'm not one to be pushed around. I know when i need to quit and now is a good time. I walked home and asked if we could leave early. When asked why I used a project as an excuse and cried myself to sleep.

*Flashback ended*

(A/N: All of this happened when she was 10 and he was 11 i know it's pretty young but the drama had to start somewhere)

After that Melanie,Adam and, Bella stopped hanging out with him. Every year after that I tried to avoid him as much as possible. Anyways back to the woods.

As we began driving to the woods we started singing Habits by Tove Lo " Gotta stay high all the time to keep you off my mind ooh ooh ooh ooh, ooh ooh ooh ooh"

*5 minutes later*

Considering the woods went that far we parked in front of the entrance and used the flashlights on our phones to guide us into the woods. As soon as we got to our hideout we moved the long vines and entered the cave like space.
