Chapter One
>Kiaya on the Side<
"Kiaya!" my mother shouted, drawing my gaze from the open window. Her hand slamming on the table in front of me making me flinch in surprise, "why aren't you paying attention!" she demanded "you need to be prepared, now it says here...."
Filtering mum's voice out I once again turned my attention back to gazing out the open window. I smiled as I watched the sun filtering through the trees and at the vibrantly coloured flowers dancing in the breeze.
"Kiaya!" my mother's exasperated voice brought my daydreaming to a halt.
"Huh? What?" I asked making her sigh in frustration.
"I don't know why I'm even bothering" she said sinking onto the seat beside me. I just looked at her in confusion. "As a future Pack Witch you will always be drawn to the Elements, even more so because of your birthday tomorrow, you will be more drawn to the Element that you will bond with."
"Oh" came my only reply as I once again turned away from her; I didn't want her to see the fear I felt reflected in my eyes.
"Come on" she said tapping my leg as she stood up, "Since your tocus is elsewhere help me tidy up and then you can go."
A wide grin splitting my face I jumped and hugged her before rushing around making sure everything was tidied. Afterwards I walked over to the dominant feature of the room; our Altar, kneeling before it I whispered a prayer of thanks to the Goddess before quickly rushing out the door.
Making my way through the Pack's territory I headed towards the stream, my quick movements making my peach coloured dress float around my knees. Slipping off my sandals once I reached the water's edge. Sitting on the stream's banking I slowly lowered my feet into the slowly rushing water, pleasantly surprised at the warmth.
Placing my elbows on my knees I studied my reflection in the water's surface, at 5'4" I was one of the smallest in the Pack, as most werewolves were tall. My thick ebony hair flowed down my back, almost reaching my waist. My emerald green eyes shined vibrantly out of my ivory face while my peach coloured lips appeared to be lost.
Letting out a sigh I flopped onto my back, swirling my feet in the water. Smiling to myself I thought about my birthday tomorrow and the possibility of finding my mate. All Pack members have the chance of finding their mate as soon as they turned eighteen; it was possible for mates to recognise each other before they reach eighteen but it wasn't common.
I lay there on the grassy bank for about an hour dangling my feet in the stream's slowly cooling water. The snapping of a twig had me bolting upright, only relaxing when I recognised Janus, the wolf form of my dad coming towards me. I smiled at his way of letting me know he was there.
"Hi Daddy" I said as he nudged my arm with his nose before sitting beside me, I leant towards him and rested my head on his chestnut coloured, furry shoulder.
'You are coming to the Pack meeting with me' my father's voice jolted me out of my thoughts as he spoke through our private mind-link.
"What! Why?" I demanded sitting upright glaring at him.
'because Ash has to be at the meeting which means Izzy is going to need someone with her' I sighed in defeat, Isabelle or Izzy as she is known, is my best friend and is the only daughter of the Alpha and Luna, she's also close to giving birth.
Don't get me wrong I am excited to go and see my best friend, I just don't feel like socialising with anyone at the moment.
"Is mum going?" I asked hopefully, as the Pack's Witch she could attend any meetings that she wanted too, whereas dad, as the Pack's Doctor was required to attend them all.
