Chapter Four - Birthday Celebrations

>Jayden on side<

As I started getting ready I thought about the ritual, thankful that the Goddess had accepted me and that She agreed for me to become the next Pack witch when mum decided to step down, which, hopefully isn't for several more years, I still have a lot to learn.

I finished getting ready, wearing a simple light green summer dress that appeared to float around my knees when I walked. I matced it with a cream cardigan and pale brown slip on shoes, applying light make up then pinning my waist length hair back and I was ready.

Going downstairs I met my parents at the front door, my 5’7” ebony haired, light tanned mother wore a shimmering green dress, with golden accents and jewellery that complemented her jade eyes. My 6’4” chestnut brown haired father wore smart black jeans with a cream shirt. I noticed he had rolled his sleeves half way up his forearm.

We strolled along the edge of the forest making our way towards the Pack house. I had a sudden thought as I listened to mum and dad chatter away to each other, "when will Julian and Nick be here?" I asked them, referring to my two older brothers.

"We are meeting them at the Pack house, they’ve taken Faith and Louise to introduce them to Jayden" mum replied. I began walking faster, I was excited to see them again as I hadn't seen them since the Winter Solstice, seven months ago.

Julian was the oldest of us at twenty-eight and had found his mate Faith six years ago. Nicholas was twenty-four and had met his mate Louise last year.

I couldn’t wait to find my mate, when I watch all the mated couples around me, it made me yearn to have someone who loved me that much. ~We will find our mate~ Raven said, stirring and stretching under my skin, making me shiver.

Arriving at the Pack house we walked in without knocking as the doors were always open and everyone was welcome. The sounds of quiet conversation led us outside, exiting the house through the kitchen door, entering the extremely large garden area that was designed to comfortably accommodate all three hundred odd members of the Moonstone Pack.

"SURPRISE!" everyone shouted making me jump in shock, it appeared that the entire Pack was there in the garden, which had been decked out with lights and a dance area had been added along with a small stage area.

Set up to one side were tables groaning under the amount of food on them, a fire pit was blazing in the corner ready and waiting making my mouth water at the thought of the for the fresh meat that was soon to be cooked.

I slowly descended small stack of stairs and was quickly surrounded by the members of the Pack as they all tried to wish me a happy birthday, all talking at the same time.

"Is he here yet?" I heard my dad ask Alpha Stephen, he and mum had stayed at the top of the stairs to greet their closest friends.

"No, he has been delayed for several hours, he's due at around 11pm" came his reply.

The increasing noise of the chatter around me made it hard to hear any more of their conversation; it soon became impossible when they went back inside the house.

Mum and Luna Aimee waded through the crowd laughingly telling the others to move away and let me breathe before I suffocated from birthday overload. "Happy birthday" Luna Aimee said as she gives me a hug, "I can't believe you're eighteen"

"Well it was bound to happen, I’ve been getting older for years" I said cheekily as she chuckled at me.

"Kiaya!" I whipped round at the sound of Izzy shouting my name; she was slowly making her way towards me. Ash was guiding her through the crowded garden, growling at anyone who dared to get too close to Izzy. I smiled at the antics of an over protective, soon to be daddy, Beta wolf.
