Sunny's POV

I dreamt that in the middle of the night, ugly, robed figures with bulbous noses dragged me into a pixelated video game. I kicked, screamed, and insulted their trashy burgundy robes, but they didn't let me out. That was actually pretty impressive, since few people can withstand my barbed tongue.

When I woke up, I realized that it hadn't been a dream. All of the tributes were sprawled around the Cornucopia; some tributes showed the beginnings of consciousness.

Everything was pixelated like a videogame. All of the trees and land were made of cubes I could spot pixelated pigs wandering in the background.

Vivian, Vanessa, and Emily X came over, "Come on, let's raid the Cornucopia first. Then we kill as many as possible."

The other tributes were slowly rising, so I leapt to my feet and grabbed whatever was nearest to me (which happened to be a pixelated axe). The others soon caught on, and grabbed anything they could carry.

I took the axe, and beheaded Lauren while Vivian shot Nadeen through the heart. Everyone else sprinted away, but Zoe and Schuyler didn't have time to collect resources since we were chasing them. They were probably going to starve.

I looked down at my suit in disgust, "Eww! There's mud and blood on me!"

Vanessa looked me up and down, and then looked at herself. "You know, you really shouldn't be complaining.... and plus, the mud is all pixely anyways, so it just falls off in a matter of seconds."

Like seriously, they don't even provide you with a fresh change of clothes everyday! We just have to live in blood and pixely mud soaked SUITS for who-knows-how-long!!! Ugh.

"I spotted a little pond that we can go to wash off," Vivian acted as the peacekeeper.

"Sure! Let's head over there now!" Emily X hastily agreed- they obviously didn't want to fight so close to the beginning. I couldn't say the same for Vanessa.

I shot a glare towards Vivian for interrupting my argument even when I was OBVIOUSLY going to win, then headed off. She'd be my first target. We can't have peaceful people lasting all the way to the end.

Natalie's POV

I groaned and sat up- on pixelated mud?! I may have said some choice words that I'd learnt from my time in the black market, but let's not repeat those here.

I shook my friends awake, "Come on! Get up!"

Valerie, Nicole, Molly, and Diana sat up groggily.

"Where are we?" Nicole asked.

"Probably in the Hunger Games arena. Unless this another one of my crazy nightmares where we magically get dropped in Minecraft," I replied sarcastically.

Valerie didn't understand sarcasm, "WOW! You have the coolest dreams!"

"That's not-," I rolled my eyes, "Nevermind."

We grabbed various supplies from the Cornucopia and bounded towards the pixelated jungle, before anyone could catch us.

We'd been trudging for hours with only some measly sandwiches to sustain us, "I'm hungry."

"Well, we're out of sandwiches," Molly supplied.

"Doesn't anyone have a sponsor?" Nicole complained.

"I think we have to do something entertaining to get food," Molly hesitated, "Like kill each other, or umm..."

"It's not like we'd do that or anything, right guys?" Valerie sounded frightened.

"We'll have to do it eventually," I made my tone monotone, "It's all part of the Games."

"How can you be so calm about this?" Nicole eyed me suspiciously.

Molly interrupted before things could get too awkward, "Oh guys, look! Something good actually came out of your arguing!" A package came and landed at our feet.

"Says it's only for Natalie though," Diana sighed in disappointment.

I pocketed the package to open later.

"You're not going to open it now!?" Nicole was astounded.

"No. No, I'm not," I held her gaze.

Many hours later we came across another team. Emily Z and Ellen had a crazed look in their eyes. We watched from the bushes as Christina tried to team up with them.

Christina approached Ellen, who was playing a dramatic tune on an enormous organ, "You're really good."

I faintly wondered where Ellen had acquired an organ. There must be some strange stuff in the Cornucopia.

Ellen's music reached a frantic crescendo and Emily pounced like a cat towards Christina, with a gigantic sewing needle in hand.

"HIYAH!" Emily let loose a battle cry as she violently hacked away at Christina's corpse. Emily was a crazy, cat-like, sewing needle bearing maniac.

I pointed out the growing number of dead bodies to the rest of the group. Elle was in mid scream, and Pippa's face was streaked with tears. Molly and Diana stifled their shrieks of terror at the sight of mangled flesh. I pretended to cover my mouth, but I was actually holding a smirk- less killing for me. Valerie's efforts were less successful and she puked into the bushes- Emily heard her and ceased her hacking.

"Spies!" Emily hissed and bared her teeth.

Ellen just cackled maniacally, "Get zhem!"

We sprinted blindly through low hanging vines until Emily's footsteps faded behind us.

"I think...we...need to...find...shelter," I gasped.

We dug out a cave using some makeshift wooden shovels.

Right before we went to sleep Valerie piped up, "We're a team, right?"

Nobody responded.
