The Prydwen Sat above the rolling plains, bustling with Brotherhood members trying to work on its hull and other problems with the massive airship.
A Brotherhood Scribe walked onto the bridge. She had a stack of paperwork in her hands, and appeared to be struggling with keeping them in that stack. She reached a table and set the paperwork down, to the pain of the person working at said table. The scribe then turned to the person heading the airship, with his massive overcoat and the BOS symbol emblazoned on it's shoulder.
"Elder maxson, sir, I have urgent news regarding the prydwen's engines," the Scribe said with utmost urgency.
The elder, looking over his shoulder, said, "Well, speak up then. If there is a problem with my airship, I must know what it is. You know what happened to the last person who ignored telling me."
The Scribe, with a horrified look in her eyes, said, "the engines have been progressively ... Failing. We're going to need another source of power if we're going to make the trip. But, There is a place where we could get an alternate power supply."
The Scribe had peaked the Elder's Curiosity. The elder turned around, and said "What is this... Power source? Because if I swear to god that it's synths, I'm going to chop your goddamn head off."
"It's not synths," said the scribe. "They're a new species of animal we've found while our Paladins were on a recon mission. We've managed to capture one, and we have it on board, if you want to see it."
"Show me."
*************
The elder and the scribe walked into the storage area. In the storage area, there was a giant glass pod, with a horrible disfigured creature inside, which was screaming and trying to break out of its containment. Elder maxson looked at the scribe.
"The fuck is this shit?"
The scribe looked over at maxson. "This, is the alternate power source. They call themselves the Sanik's. They are literal powerhouses. They can run extremely fast, which requires a whole lot of power. We have figured out a way to extract this raw power."
The Elder looked over to the scribe. "Show me how you extract it."
The scribe nodded and walked over to a switch, and flipped it. The sanik started to shake uncontrollably and scream in an unholy manner. It started to glow red, then orange, then white, and then a massive white flash happened, that blinded everyone in the vicinity for a while. When the elder could see again, he looked into the containment and saw a pile of glowing red ashes and a floating, white ball, that occasionally had short tendrils of lightning shoot out of it.
The scribe, who fell over from the blast, got up and said "that's the actual power source. Let me show you how effective it is." She took an empty fusion cell and hooked it up to one of the ports on the containment pod. The aura shot into the fusion cell, which started to glow. The scribe then loaded the cell into a laser rifle and brought the elder to the firing range. "This is how powerful these 'aura's' can be." She aimed the laser rifle at a target and pulled the trigger. A giant Light blue laser shot out of the barrel of the laser rifle, going to through the target and the ship's hull.
The elder turned to the scribe. "Good work. I expect you to reformat our engines to be fueled by these Aura's, so we can be on our way. Also, patch up the hill, or else you'll be thrown out of it."
"Right away elder."
The elder walked back to the bridge.
"Set course for the homeland of the Sanik's. We've got some fuel to collect."
