I'm really sorry this is so late, I was really busy and couldn't finish it in time to post it yesterday. I tried to make it longer than it was originally for you guys because of this, so I hope it's a good apology gift!

"Are you sure she'll be okay with having me?" I ask, for what has to be the twentieth time.

"Bobby, how many times to I have to tell you that she'll be fine with it? Hell, she'd probably be more upset if I told her you didn't come." Angel says, for what also has to be the twentieth time.

Mel beams at me. "Angie's right, Bobby. Lilia loves people, and she's the biggest mother hen I've ever met. She'll love having you!" I think this is the fifth time she's said that, but nobody's words are making me feel any less nervous.

I should probably explain what's going on. Basically, my parents and Alexander have gone to visit my Aunt Sabrina in London, and Jake is staying at a friend's house until tomorrow. Because of this, Angel and Mel immediately seized the opportunity to spend time with me outside of school and Angel decided that we were spending time with her family.

By her family, she didn't mean her parents. She meant her cousin, Lilia.

Funnily enough, she's never really mentioned her parents. I'm not willing to ask, either, though. Mel never really mentions them either, or her own. I guess none of us have ideal home situations. It makes me feel even closer to them, to be honest, even if we don't talk about it. I'm the only one who's said anything so far about my home, anyway, and they (aka Mel and Angel) weren't very happy. They actually swore a lot.

Those two love to defy stereotypes.

"Bobby, look at me." Angel commands. "Lia is like a less hyperactive Mel. She's the friendliest person ever. She'll be glad to see you."

"Angie, are y- wait, did I just...?"

Angel and I blushed at the realisation that I'd called her by Mel's nickname, and I quickly began to stammer. "Shit, sorry, Angel, I've gotten so used to hearing Mel say it lately and-"

"I don't mind," she blurts out, eyes turned to the ground. "I like being called Angie by my friends."

"Oh, um, do you want me to carry on calling you Angie then?" I ask, rubbing the back of my neck.

She shrugs, biting her lip. "Um... if you want?"

I can see Mel grinning devilishly in the background, but before I can think on it I hear a female voice yelling. "Hey, Angie! You guys ready!"

We all turn to the direction of the voice, and I see a girl so similar to Angel I can hardly believe they're cousins instead of sisters. They both have curly brown hair, although the girl (Lilia, I think) in the car has much longer hair, and her eyes seem more turquoise than straight up green. She's wearing a white, sleeveless dress and a flower clip in her hair.

"Lia!" Angel beams, embarrassment gone in a second. "Yep, we're coming!"

She and Mel run off, and I hastily begin to speed-walk after them, trying not to seem like a massive dork.

Of course, that's impossible in my case, so in the end it was just me being too ambitious.

We teach the car at roughly the same time thanks to my (actually quite impressive) speed-walking and Lilia grins at us. I was right - her eyes are more turquoise and sea green than Angel's eyes.

"Mel! It's been a while, huh?" Lilia smiles at her. Mel nods, smiling back.

"Yep! It's good to see you! Is this a new car! It's pretty! Ugh, I can't wait to start driving lessons!"
