"So, what did your father tell you?" Akise asked the (h/c) the next day at school, making the poor girl jump in surprise. They successfully booked it out of the crime scene yesterday and Akise immediately escorted (f/n) back to her house before he said his goodbye for the day. (F/n) didn't expect him to wait for her by the school corridor near the shoeboxes.

At first, Akise wanted to show up right next to her shoebox while she changed her outdoor shoes into indoor shoes, but he didn't want to get smacked in the face by the box's door for being all mysterious, so he opted to just wait for her by the corridor leading to their class. Beside he would be on the way if he decided to surprise her by the

"Can't it wait until I sit down at least? I didn't expect you to just ambush me here." (F/n) sighed before groaning like a zombie, still feeling sleepy despite the long walk to school. She thought that her autopilot just walked her to school while she was in a daze which often happened, luckily she had zero accidents until now.

Seems like she isn't a morning person. Akise thought to himself when he saw how sleepy his classmate was in front of him. "Sorry, I just want to know about it as fast as possible. Did you just walk here while being this sleepy?"

The (e/c) eyed girl nodded her head absentmindedly, letting her autopilot take her to her classroom and seat. She just sat there, laid her head on the table and seemingly drifted off to sleep again, not giving Akise the answer he wanted to hear yet.

Akise himself, decided to sit down on his desk behind (f/n), letting the poor girl sleep some more because he felt awkward to wake the sleepy girl when he didn't even know her that well for an answer that could be answered later. It was just before the homeroom when she woke up, looking around to find herself in the classroom.

"Good morning." Akise's voice immediately reached the (h/c) girl's ears. She turned around and found Akise reading a book there, relaxing on his chair with crossed legs.

(F/n) was still blinking, vision bleary from pressing her eyes on her arm while she was asleep. With a groggy voice, she returned Akise's greeting. "Ah... Mm... Good morning."

An amused smile bloomed from the albino's lips as an equally amused chuckle escaped smoothly, like finely made Chinese silk, like the cold water running down your dry throat during the hottest summer. (F/n) didn't understand why he laughed but she certainly liked the sound of his laugh, it's like a ripple to the calm pond.

"So? What's your answer to become my housemate?" Akise asks (f/n) again for the second time today, while the girl was still trying to regain her consciousness fully like a cat that usually stretches and yawns after napping.

"The problem is, I need to take care of my house while it's empty. Beside, what about your parents?" (F/n) knew that Akise lived with his parents so the idea of intruding to be a housemate made her feel rather bad. "What about you move in instead, if your parents don't mind you moving out."

"Hmm... I don't know how to convince them." Akise hummed, thinking to himself how to convince his parents. Saying that he'll live with (f/n) because of his dream to be a worldwide detective? They wouldn't let him. Saying that he loves (f/n)? That's an utter lie and they also wouldn't let him even if it's true. "Well, let's cross that bridge later because your idea seems more plausible than mine."

"Do you often get this... Dumb and impulsive in everyday life?" (F/n) asked Aru and the boy laughed awkwardly as a response.

"Not exactly, it's just this particular part of things that makes me look bad. I'm pretty smart." Akise sighed, feeling his embarrassment hit past the roof. It's not like he was impulsive or losing a screw or two, it's just that there's this feeling in him. A forceful feeling that gnaws, telling him to be close to (f/n) at the first sight they met two years ago when they first entered high school.

It grew each day to the point he was close to having nightmares about it and he wanted to know why he should be close to (f/n) and why it must be her. It was not even about her ability to deduce or her scarily accurate intuition. It's just about her as a whole, but he didn't crave for her like some lovesick fool. Something told him, to keep an eye on (f/n).

"From your reputation alone, you're just straight up weird here," (F/n) said bluntly about how Akise was perceived in school. "But you're awesome outside, they just don't know how awesome you are."

"I don't know whether you insult me or compliment me." Akise shook his head, a small smile gracing his handsome face. The albino was clearly amused as he didn't mind being called weird, people will always be weird to one another.

"Take it as a compliment," (F/n) said, truly thought of Akise as a cool individual because of his ability to deduce things and that he's actually handsome, just a little loose in the head. Everyone in this class thought of him as a weirdo, but they would probably think of him as a properly amazing person later on when they grow up because Akise is a naturally smooth and suave person.

The teacher then came in so their conversation had to be cut short for now. Lunch break rolled and (f/n) received a smack on her shoulder. "Race you to the cafeteria!"

"Oi! Hino!!" (F/n) rubbed her shoulder but still raced the tan girl to the cafeteria, not seeing Akise's outstretched hand. He was about to poke (f/n) on the shoulder when Hinata jumped in, smacked her and ran off with her in tow into an impromptu race.

She's so lively despite looking like a dead man in the morning. Akise shook his head as soon as he snapped out of the shock of the turn of the event. He got up from his chair and walked leisurely to the cafeteria, he wasn't in a rush to get his lunch and didn't mind not getting any—he's bored with the cafeteria menu.

"Huh? Akise-kun, you're so late. They sell yakisoba bun, you know." Hinata noticed Akise just arrived at the cafeteria when she was about to walk out with (f/n) in tow.

"Ah- mm..." Akise nodded his head, he isn't in the mood for that elusive Yakisoba Bun. At least until he saw what was inside (f/n) hand. "Cream Puff?! What day is this-"

Akise checked the day and it's Wednesday. "CRAP! I FORGOT! MY CREAM PUFF!" And he rushed to see the display to the cream puff was gone, clean, without a speck of dust or crumbs left. "Cream puff..."

"Sucks to be you." (F/n) patted Akise's shoulder. "And I'm not giving you any."

"How cold." Akise moaned dramatically and he decided to buy a lunch set instead. Noticing the girls still watching him, he decided to ask for their interesting lunch choice. "You two are only going to eat bread?"

Hinata and (f/n) had a bunch of buns in their arms, from yakisoba bun to melon bun and French bread; it felt like they ransack a bakery instead because of the amount of breads in their cradle. The girls nodded at Akise's question. "It's boring to eat rice everyday sometimes."

"That's right." Hinata chimed in to (f/n) small comment, before going on their way. "Then we'll go back first."

"At least have some heart to accompany me!" Akise's yell fell into deaf ears as the girls ran away as fast as they could.
