guardian of the skies(part 1)

Jellal's POV

As the fog cleared, the sight was horrible. Windows were shattered, tables were destroyed. Yet not one person was harmed.

"There!" Ultear yelled. I look at the door just in time to see a man with a mask run out. Before I can react though, Erza beat me. Chasing after him with tremendous speed, there is no way he can get away.

"Follow them!" I yelled at Natsu, Gajeel, and Laxus. I took out my sword and followed Erza's steps.

Erza's POV

As I chase him, taking two rights and a left, I finally think I am out of sight. Using my magic, I chanted a spell that quicker my pace , and instantly catching up to him. Kicking him the the stomach, he dropped unconscious.

"Erza?" Hearing Jellal's voice, I quickly change back to my dress and just in time too. Jellal, along with Natsu, Gajeel, and Laxus appear.

"What happened? Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Jellal asked frantically.

"I am fine. But we should interrogate him to find out where he is from. Perhaps we will get something out for him." I said as Natsu and Gajeel tie him up and handcuff him. Walking up to him, I toke off the mask and looked at him trying to identify him.

"Who are you?" I patiently asked.

" Why would I tell you!" He spat out

"Oh, wrong move. Erza will kill him. Let's go prepare his funeral." Natsu whispered to Gajeel as he nodded.

"You have three chances. One" I said as calm as possible.

"I will never disobey the king! You won't even know me!" He said.

"Two." I said.

"Never! I rather die than tell you our goal!" He continued on.

"Three. You have reached the end." I said as I take out my sword, and thrust it at his heart. But I stop right before it.

"Why did you stop? Why didn't you kill him?" Jellal asked me puzzled.

"Too scared and weak? " The man mocked.

"I have gotten enough information." I said simply. The man looked at me like I was crazy.

"I didn't tell you anything." He said.

" From what you said, I learned three things. One, you are from a kingdom. Two, you say we will not know you. Meaning you are from a far away kingdom. Three, you came here with a goal. Take him to the dungeons." I said. His,along with Jellal's mouths dropped. I do have good observation and interrogation skills. I give the credits to Levy. She is extremely skilled in interrogation.

"Why you!" He said as he was dragged away.

" Jellal, based on his mask, I say he is from a continent of the western side. It was called-" I was interrupted by Gray.

"Alakitasia. It is the continent west of Fiore." He asked.

" Yeah. I heard there King is immortal or something." Jellal asked

"No one's immortal. It's probably just a rumor. Gihi." Gajeel said.

"Hey guys, what interrogation?" Natsu asked as Gajeel and Gray facepalmed while Jellal just chuckled.

"It's too advance for you to understand, squinty eyes." Gray said.

"You wanna go, droopy eyes?" Natsu shot back.

"Fire freak."

"Ice bastard."

"Fire bastard!"

"Elsa!"

"Flamebrain!"

"Tree!"

"Tree? What the heck Salamander?" Gajeel said.

"Here we go again." Jellal said sighing.

"Erza, can you and the other knights find out more about why the man came here?" He asked me.

"Sure no problem." I said. As I was about to leave, Jellal grabbed my shoulder and said "good luck".

"Yeah." I said. As I called Ultear, Mira, Meredy, Minerva, Millianna, and Kagura to the basement, Millianna suggested to bring the man's mask with us.

"It might be useful." She said.

*Timeskip*

"Aghh! What could it mean?" I asked agitated. We have been searching in all the books for hours, and it is already midnight.

" Guys, over here! Minerva yelled. We all rushed over, hoping to find a lead.

" Guys look! When I was about to take the mask apart, it fell apart itself into these pieces! I think it is a puzzle! So then I put it together! It made the number 7!" She exclaimed as we all looks at the letter confused.

What does it stand for? Maybe I should ask Mira. She is the only other person I am friends with who knows I have magic.

"Psst Mira, can you come here for a sec?" I whispered .

"What's wrong?" She asked.

" I need to find where this is from. What should I do?" I asked.

"Huh. You have to try and look for her again. " She said.

" What!? But I thought she was a legend!?" I complained.

"Magic is a legend, or was a legend. You have to try. She knows all, sees all. She is our only hope." She said

" Very well. Tomorrow at sunrise, tell everyone here to meet me by the rose garden, okay?" I asked her.

"Sure. Bring that sword. You know, just in case." She said.

"I will. Goodbye." I bid farewell to the others, and returned to my room. On my way there, I bumped into someone and fell.

"Oh! I'm sorry!" I said quickly. Looking up, I saw Juvia and Levy.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Juvia wants Gray-sama to like her, but everything Juvia does fails. Levy-san is going to help me, and there is no way I'm asking Love rival!" Juvia said.

"Juvia, boys are just super dense. But if it helps, I'll try and help." I said.

" Thanks Erza-san! What should I do." Juvia asked.

"I told her to ask the boys. They might know." Levy said.

"Yeah. Ask Gajeel. You guys are best friends, right? Plus he talks with Natsu and Gray a lot." I said.

"Okay! Thanks!" Juvia said before going back to her room.

" Oh well then, good night." I said. I then walked in my room, and got ready to sleep. Packing my bag for tomorrow, I looked at my sword. I guess I will bring it just in case. You never know what will happen.
