Rogue's POV

This first exam is quite different. I must be intelligent if I want to pass and impress Kagura. She has explained to me about the weird animals on this island already.

"Oh and Rogue, do your best. I am sure you will pass." She said smiling. If I pass, then I can protect that smile.

"Hello? Rogue? Your spacing out!" She said shaking me.

"I'm fine!" I said.

"Good! By the way, who do you look up to? I was also thinking about who you admire." Kagura said. She thinks about me?

"I don't know." I said. How could I tell her I admire her?

"How about you?" I asked curious.

"Erza. When my brother died, she became my sister." She said.

"I'm sorry for your loss." I said. After that, we didn't talk until we reached the assigned spot.

"Good luck. See you at the end." Kagura said.

Laxus's POV

Here I am, escorting Elfman to his assigned spot. Both us aren't talking, just walking. Finally, I decided to start a conversation.

"So, how is it going? Is Mirajane holding up after Lisanna's death?" I asked. Lisanna was Mira and Elfman younger sister. She was kidnapped by the enemy when Elfman made a mistake and was killed.

"Nee-san is okay. She forgave me. But I just can't forgive myself. If only I saved her." He said looking sad.

"Well, at least Mirajane is okay." I said.

"Do you like my sister?" He asked me. What!?

"No. Of course not." I said trying to sound as calm as I can.

"Well, that's to bad. She like you." Elfman said. Wait! She likes me? Why would she like scum like me?

"How do you know?" I asked. Maybe he is just lying.

"Why, don't you sound interested. I overheard her and Erza. Duh. But you don't need to know that. We all know except Mirajane. We know you like her too." He said. Darn it! What do I do now? I can pretend I didn't hear him.

"Yeah. You like her. But let me warn you, if you ever hurt my nee-san, I will destroy you. I will cut you in two, then into little pieces, then into even littler pieces and then-" I interrupted him. Like I get it. Don't hurt Mirajane. Period.

"I get it. Chill. I won't hurt her." I said. "I don't even like her."

"Yeah. Right." Elfman said with sarcasm.

"Tch." Was all I could say.

"Good luck. You'll need it in there."' Was all I said.

No one's POV

All the competitors have started, and Lyon and Freed have encountered each other.

"Uh! Where is he?" Lyon said behind a tree. "Maybe I could climb the tree." Reaching the top, Lyon spotted Freed 200 meters from him.

"Let's see if my aim is good enough." Getting his bow ready, ready to shoot at Freed. Before hitting him, it expanded into a net and caught Freed unexpected.

"Gah! Where did you come from?" Freed asked.

"For Meredy-chan. I win." Lyon said before grabbing Freed''s light scroll and running towards the shrine.
