justin was seated in the café, waiting for the grande-butera's princess to come.
he hated having to wait. he hated the fact that his parents forced him do this. he hated that he's going on an actual date instead of going to the club and right back to his bedroom with someone wrapped around him. he hated this all.
The café's front doors bell jingled. he raised his head, finding a girl surrounded by guards.
'so that's her? i can't say that i'm disappointed.' he thought, smirking to himself. oh how he wished he could've met her at a party or club instead of this stupid café.
as soon as she spotted him, she signaled the guards to leave.
'should i blow off the whole 'pretend to be uninterested' act and actually get to know her?' he thought as she seated herself down.
'i mean, it won't hurt to try? this is probably the first and last time we're going on a date, right?'
~
ariana wasn't nervous. she wasn't anxious.
those are both understatements.
as she seated herself down infront of the prince himself.
"h-hello." she stuttered out. 'damnit! i already messed everything up!' she mentally scolded herself.
"hey. ariana right?" he asked, a ghost of a smile on his face.
she froze. his voice almost made her melt in her seat.
wait. what? he's supposed to hate me and i'm supposed to hate him and we're supposed to never see each
other again! right?but... if i act uninterested in him, he'll just leave me alone! perfect.
"uh. yeah." she muttered as she looked away, hoping this act works.
but do i want it to?
~
after the tiniest bit of a conversation and a few lattes and muffins later, justin couldn't seem to get her to loosen up.
so, he resorted to plan B. it wasn't really a plan B, but it was all he could think of.
he took her to a park. st. mary park.
they both seated on a bench near a rather pretty cherry blossom tree.
as he sat down, ariana stayed still in her place, not bothering to sit, and stared at the tree.
he could sense something was off.
he managed to speak out. "hey, ariana are you alright?"
she suddenly moved, as if she was just in a trance.
"oh, uh yeah, sorry." she muttered as she sat down rather far away from him.
he could still feel something was off. was she being distant for a reason? was their something wrong about him?
he was getting rather annoyed. he was being very polite to her, which isn't him at all.
he had to know what's wrong. it's bugging him.
"uh, is there something wrong? i wanted to know why you're being so distant?" he asked, turning around to face her.
his shoulders touched hers slightly. he could feel her tense up.
just as she was about to answer, something he didn't expect to happen suddenly surprised them both.
it started raining.
he quickly turned around to ariana. "c'mon, let's get some shelter!" he told her as he gripped her wrist and led her under the cherry blossom tree.
as he looked at her, he could see her eyes wide open and her hand over her right eye.
"did a branch hit your eye or something? what's wrong with your eye?" he asked her worriedly.
"oh, uh, i-it's nothing. don't worry about it." she said, swiftly looking away.
the curiosity kept eating at him. he couldn't hold back. and as they say,
curiosity kills the cat.
justin quickly grabbed ariana's wrist.
"w-what are you doing?" she squeaked.
he forcefully pulled her wrist down, and immediately regretted it.
he finally knows why she's been covering her eye.
the reason was right there, as clear as day.
she had a black eye.
