{A/N: Sorry for taking almost a year to update. I'm about to graduate so I need to prepare for my college. Well I think I can publish at a normal rate from here on out. I will also provide Art for each chapter. Kinda like in Japanese Light Novels. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the new chapter!]
You know, there could have been a gazillion possible outcome after my supposed "Death Flag" was raised. Melanie could go all 'Super Saiyan" and send her to another encounter to shoot her with that rainbow laser she used to incapacitate Cho'Gath. Or, the two of them could both be smiling and having some idle chat inside the store, eating some premium Ice cream that was bought with my money. Well you can guess how it turned out...
"Really, Mark actually did that?" Melanie asked Monica who was seated on the other side of the table.
"Yup, And also..."
Their conversation went on and on as it followed a particular pattern. First, one of them tell the other about something I did, then comes the recipient's doubting remarks, followed by the speaker's assurance, ending with both of them laughing until one of them thought of another one.
I wouldn't actually mind watching and listening to a girl's conversation about me. It's like, every adolescent boy's dream, but I wished that they would talk more about the accomplishment's I've done, rather than my mistakes.
"That's because Mark doesn't have any!" Melanie burst, as if on cue. I didn't pay her comment any attention and just focused on my ice-cream that was on the verge of melting. Honestly, I'd prefer the laser light show.
You know, looking back I wondered, "How did we end up in this situation?" I was pretty sure Melanie was ready to pounce on us at the instance that I would try to explain, but I guess I was worried too much. Because before I could begin to explain, Monica took the wheel and began to speak.
"Mark? Is she your girlfriend or something?" She asked as she pointed at the seemingly enraged Melanie. Quite oblivious of the aggressive aura Melanie emitted.
"Yeah, that's right!" She crossed her arms in displeasure "What about it?" She gave a stern look.
Monica then approached her and bent over to whisper to her ear. Melanie's eye slowly widens, along with her childish and mischievous grin. She then glanced over me in disbelief, so much so as she pointed at me, mouthing the words "Really, him?"
Monica then gave a nod, which was followed by Melanie's constrained giggles. She then beckoned me to come over, pointed at the ice cream store and mouthed "You pay".
I would be very thankful to Monica, taming the beast that was Melanie, if not for the fact that she is now in tandem with her. I felt pitiful for my wallet that was now pretty much empty. If this goes on, I'm afraid my allowance for a week would falter in a couple of days.
"Stop sulking, Mark." Melanie flicked my forehead. I didn't even notice that she approached me. "You promised to buy me ice cream last night, right?" She pointed out.
"I promised that I'll buy you ice cream. I never promised to buy for her as well."
"It won't hurt to share to a friend." She grinned as she pulled Monica towards her. "Especially if that friend is a fellow summoner, now wouldn't it?" Even though you, yourself were ready to pounce at her just a while back. "And besides, you will need all the energy you can get for later."
"Later?" I asked. "How is ice cream a good source of energy?"
"You'll see, young one!" Who's the young one here? "Just trust me, as a summoner, sugar will be your best friend."
