*Ding-Ding-Dong-Ding*
"Crap! I'm late!" I uttered as I heard the bell from just outside the room.
I quickly rushed to my classroom hoping that I was ahead of my homeroom teacher. Though as I let the doors fly open, I was already too late. Every student in the room directed their attention to me, including an old woman who had her arms around her chest.
"First days never change, don't they, Mr. Tracey?" She spoke in her shrilly voice, as you would expect on someone who's in their mid 50's or 60's
"Oh, great!" I thought as I tried to avoid her gaze.
The person in question was the one teacher who caused me so much trouble from the 7th grade, up until now. I couldn't even count by hand all of the times she became the bane to my happiness.
One time, back in the 7th grade, I was finally blessed with the chance to be alone with a girl for once, since we were in charge of cleaning the room. After we finished, she invited me to go to the shopping district. Though before I could say anything, Ms. Shane appeared out of nowhere and told her that she forbids me from dating anyone. Not that she doidn't allow students dating in general, just me. And I never heard from the girl ever since.
Here's another one. Back in 8th grade, I was finally asked by some dudes from my class to hang out with them. I had no reason to disagree, but apparently Ms. Shane had other ideas. She told them that I couldn't come because I still have to attend the extra class sessions I "begged" from her. They said they understood, and so they labeled me as one of the "studious" ones.
I know teachers are supposed to be are second parents, but I think she took that a bit too far. And its not that I take my studies very lightly. I, for one, wouldn't mind being titled as studious.
But there is a reason why I couldn"t take her seriously. Ms. Shane is a Biology teacher, and I would understand that as a teacher, you should be dedicated to your subject area. Now here's why I consider Ms. Shane's dedication "unique". Everywhere she goes, she always brings a freaking plant with her. And her obsession isn't only limited on school grounds. She even brings it whenever she is out of the house. How do I know, you ask? Well, I was at the city park once, just sitting on the bench, and enjoying serene atmosphere of nature, when suddenly, I saw her jogging as she carried a piece of it with her.
The plant looks nothing special per se, but I don't know what it has called or where it came from. It has flowers that can consist of three to five violet, pointed tip petals, surrounding a bulb with the same color. At first glance, it seems like a normal flower, right? Well, that so called "normal" flower looks like its stalking me. How could I tell something that stupid or crazy? I can feel that the bulb is always facing me like it's some sort of eye that watches my every move, literally EVERY MOVE! Where ever I go inside the classroom, the bulb keeps facing me. It's not just the plant, but also Ms. Shane. Every time I did something "seemingly wrong, she pops out of nowhere and corrects my actions. Yep! That's going to be my life for the whole, damn school year.
I headed to the table beside a boy with brown, fohawk hair, slightly pointed nose, and dimples. He waved his hands as I approached. He seemed to be in a good mood despite his best friend getting a lot of unnecessary attention. I could tell that he is holding in his laughter, with his hand over his mouth, preventing it to escape. Though is seemed that he's not doing a very good job, because he started to laugh as soon as I sat.
"That's the longest yet" I looked at my wristwatch, as if I was actually recording.
"Really? I thought for sure the last incident with the water fountain would take the cake."
