The next morning at five-thirty, I'm dressed and ready to go to the training range.
Although, I sit down at the table to eat breakfast first.
After I eat, Finnick and Mags look at me, then I notice that Caleb isn't here.
"Where's you know who?" I ask.
"Still asleep." Finnick says. "He said he needed rest."
I roll my eyes and lean back in my seat.
Mags smiles.
Finnick looks at me. "Feather, be nice now."
"But I find that so hard to do for him." I say smiling.
He chuckles and Caleb walks in shirtless.
I look back at the table rolling my eyes quickly and drinking some more water.
"Good morning beautiful." He says smirking at me.
I look over at him. "Uh, Caleb?" I ask in a polite sweet, high voice.
"Yes love?" He asks.
"If you ever call me beautiful again, I'll kill you in your sleep." I say, instantly stopping the fake voice and looking at him irritated.
Finnick and Mags try their best not to laugh as Caleb sits down, stunned.
Caleb wasn't trying to get on my good side, and I doubted that he ever would.
The truth hurt sometimes, and I knew that what I said yesterday to Caleb was true.
He wouldn't last a day.
The bloodbath that would take place first thing would be something that I'd do my best to avoid.
I could always make my own weapons...Somehow.
As Caleb began to eat, I finished my second glass of water and the avox girl who had been assisting us today, came over to refill it.
"Thank you." I say to her and she nods.
Caleb looks at me weirdly. "You don't have to say that to them."
"Yes I do, their human just like me and they should be treated as such. Plus, I was raised with some manners, unlike you." I say taking a drink.
Finnick grins, looking at Mags who is doing the same.
"You know Caleb, you could actually learn a thing or two from Feather." Finnick says.
"Kindness won't get you anywhere in the games." He says. "It's every man for himself."
"Now where have I heard that before." I say rolling my eyes and leaning back in my chair.
Caleb smirks, placing his hand on my inner high thigh.
I gasp, and shove it away. "If you ever place your hand on me like that again I'll cut it off!" I say angrily, glaring at him.
Finnick frowns and looks at Caleb. "Apparently you don't know how to treat women."
"Women are here for one reason and one reason only..." Caleb says smiling at Finnick. "To re-populate and do household chores.
I growl at him and Finnick's frown deepens.
"Actually you're wrong. They don't have to re-populate, some of them can't. And as for doing household chores, they're not maids who should cater to your every whim. Grow up and be a man Caleb, you'll need it in the games. Until you figure out what 'love' is, I suggest you keep your mouth shut!" Finnick says.
