The Shocking Truth

I walked the grounds that had become familiar to me.

Since there were eight of us left, I stayed out of my hammock as much as possible.

There wasn't much talk or noise anywhere in this place.

It was pretty silent for the most part, but every once and a while, someone would make the mistake of screaming or talking too loud....Then the girl and boy from one would get them or better yet, try to.

I sat on a rock next to the river where my hammock was.

No cannons had gone off today, at least not yet.

I was on guard and I wasn't back off of my guard anytime soon.

Something was going on and I had a pretty good feeling that someone was sneaking around.

I jumped at the sound of a twig snap and turned to see a guy behind me, his eyes widening and turning to fear as I released my dagger faster than he could throw his trident.

It killed him instantly and I breathed a breath of relief, thankful that I hadn't been killed.

Well, now their were seven of us.

The cannon went off and I waited until the night took over.

Just as I was about to turn in, I heard the scream of a girl coming from the leafless woods.

It sent the hair on the back of my neck up and I looked around to find nothing in the now darkness.

Only a few seconds later did the cannon go off.

Still, I sat there and sighed.

Five.

Five of us were left.

This game was almost over and I'd made it to the final five.

Wow.

I was actually a little surprised and then I seen the silver parachute coming my way.

I caught it and quickly took the note which was attached.

"You made it to the final five, keep up the good work! Here's a reward. --Finnick--" Placing the note in my pocket, I opened the little box and found beef jerky inside.

My eyes widened and my mouth watered.

I quickly took a piece and began to eat it, hungry for protein and flavor.

This was a really good reward and I was happy that Finnick had thought of my achievement to be reward-worthy.

Although, when I finished the jerky, I noticed a scribbling on the bottom too small to read, but I tried to make it out.

It was definitely Finnick's writing, but as I leaned in closer, practically holding the box to my face, I seen Tanner's name and the words 'Still Alive' written beside it.

I removed the box and my eyes widened.

He's still alive? But how? He died?

Knowing that if the Capital found out he'd be dead, I quickly destroyed the box and thenwent into my water hammock for the night to sleep.

I was tired and I needed rest....And something told me that tomorrow was going to be rough....Very rough....
