I woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon coming from downstairs. The bed was empty, and I looked around the room, wondering where Matt was. Warrily, i rubbed my eyes and got out of bed. Stumbling my way downstairs, I heard Matts laughter, which made me move faster. He smiled when he saw me, and I couldn't help but smile back. His mother looked up from the bacon she was cooking and at her son. Matt never stopped smiling at me, and it made me blush. I walked over and sat next to him. He smiled even more than before; who new that was possible? The look in his eyes was undescribable. Like a blind man seeing the stars and the moon for the first time; like he was seeing something more beautiful than words could describe. The way his eyes sparkled in that moment, the way I melted in them, made me blush a dark red.
"What?" I asked him.
He looked at me confused and tilted his head to one side.
"The way your staring at me... your eyes are sparkling...why?" I asked him, because surley, it wasn't because of me.
He laughed a nervous laugh and shook his head. His mom brought us our food then, setting a plate full of eggs and bacon in front of me.
"That you, this looks delicious." I smiled at her.
She rested one hand on my shoulder. "Good, I'm glad. How did you sleep last night?"
I grinned a huge grin. "Very good actually."
She laughed and left me and Matt alone. I ate breakfast in silence, lost in thought. Matt finished and stared at me, smiling. I finally finished and he took my plate from me.
"So, what do you want to do today?" He beamed.
"Well I should probably go home first to change and make sure I'm not in trouble." I laughed.
"Yeah your right... I should probably give you my number though, so if your parents don't let you out, you can just call me and tell me."
I nodded, and he grabbed a pen and wrote a number on a piece of paper. He handed it to me. His mother came back into the kitchen then; I assumed she heard our whole conversation.
"I better go now, thank you for everything. I'll bring back the clothes later today, washed and everything."
"Anytime sweety, and don't worry about it." She hugged me goodbye.
I waved goodbye to Matt and ran outside. It was as sunny as could be, like the weather matched my mood perfectly. The sky was a perfect blue; the only clouds were small and scattered. I ran over to my house; the door was unlocked when I got there. My parents were up, waiting I assumed. My father was pacing in the living room and my mother was curled up on the couch, rubbing the bridge of her nose. She looked agrivated.
When they noticed me come in, my father stopped pacing and walked over to me, and my mother got up and followed him.
"Where were you?" He demanded.
"At a friends house."
"Yeah? Since when do you go to friends houses? You never even mention friends, I was starting to think you had none. Where the hell were you?!" My father raged.
"I was at my friends house!"
My dad laughed. "What friend then?"
"My friend Matt..." I answered hesitantly.
"Oh? Yeah well first, you can't spend the night at a boys house. Second, why didnt you, oh i dont know, ask first?!"
"Because all you guys do is yell! You wouldn't have let me, and I didnt want to come home!"
