"Where is Matt?!" I nearly shreaked at Sue, trying to fight past her.

"Honey! Calm down, he's in his room. But I don't want you going up there! He's a very, very sick boy."

"Why not? I need to see him!"

"No!" She yelled at me, becoming agitated. "I am Matts mother, I know what's best for him. You can either go home or stay down here. Your choice."

I sighed and plopped down on the couch, flipping through chanels on the T.V. Why wouldn't she let me see Matt? Was it so bad that he couldn't handle seeing anybody? Was she just worried I'd get sick too? No. That's just stupid. The door flung open and a beautiful girl walked in. She had thick, dark brown wavy hair that fell to the small of her back, and the same warm brown eyes that Matt had. She had a smile that could make you feel warm and happy in the middle of a blizzard. She walked over to Matts mother, grinning the whole time.

"Hailey!!" Sue screeched, embracing her in a huge bear hug.

Hailey laughed and turned to face me when her mother let her go.

"Oh, hello. I'm Matt's sister, Hailey." She grinned.

"Hi. I'm Clara."

"So you're the famous Clara? The girl that Matt won't shut up about?"

I nodded and she laughed. It was a kind of laugh that I have never heard before, it was beautiful, angelic. I stood up and walked over to the kitchen where they were. I leaned against the wall, crossing my arms. Hailey grinned at me and observed me, probably wondering why her brother thought I was so great.

"You're so pretty" I blurted out, before I could stop myself.

She laughed. "Thank you. I try."

Sue looked up from the dish she was cleaning and said "Hailey honey, could you hand me that towel over there?"

"Sure."

"So, Clara, tell me about yourself." She said as she lead me over to the couch. I sat down beside her.

"There's not much to tell." I mumbled.

"Oh come on, tell me about your life, your family, your friends, your hobbies, what you like to do." She encouraged.

"Well... I lived in this boring town my whole life. I have a mom and a dad, who fight all the time. My dad's an ass, my mom's great. I have a little sister, Olivia, who's the brightest and happiest little girl in the world. I usually have to take care of her. My dad hasn't told me he loves me since I was 9, and my mom hasn't told me she loves me for a year now.

"I have no friends. I did, but then they decided they hate me. My ex boyfriend Jesse broke my heart, and he left me for a slut. Everybody except for my grandma, Matt, and Sue, hates me." I paused, glancing up at her face. She was slightly frowning.

"I don't hate you..." She mumbled.

"Thanks. Anyways, I love to paint, and I like poetry. I'm obsessed with music, and if I didn't have art, poetry and music, I would be dead. I've always wanted a big sister. You know, someone to help me with boy problems, someone to help me get ready for my first date, somebody to talk too, but I'm the oldest. I'm Olivia's big sister, so I'm supposed to be that person for her."

She nodded. "Well, consider me your new big sister."

I smiled at her. "Okay. So tell me about yourself."

"Well, my name's Hailey, no duh. I lived in Detroit until I was seven, and Matt was two. I got diagnosed with cancer when I was ten, but one year later I was cancer free. We lived in the house forever, but we went to a private school. I go to Rutgers University, I have a boyfriend named Austin. I volunteer at children hospitals, and I hope to be a nurse one day. I donate to charities to help kids with cancer because I remember how horrible it was when I had cancer.
